    Multiple Xbox in one household


    I have two XBOX in my house. I have mine set up in the living room as my home Xbox. My son has his XBOX in his room with his own account. I added him to my subscription as a family member.

    The problem I am encountering is that we cannot play at the same time. If he is playing Minecraft and I want to play something else, it says I am logged in my sons XBOX. If I say sign out, it will kick him out and say I have to sign in for him to continue to play.

    I don’t understand of the family feature if only one XBOX can be playing at a time?

    It sounds as though your son is needing to sign in your account on his console to be able to access your games/subscriptions. You would need to set his console as your Home in order to share with him so he doesn't need your account. Then you can sign in and play on your console and you won't log anyone out.

    so what if you have a family of kids and multiple xbox ones in the home, sorry but i don't justify buying multiple copies of the same game for one household of my kids.

    You can put both profiles on both consoles. That way your stuff will show up no matter which console you play on. It won't download any games automatically but your home screen, pins and other changes you've made to your own Xbox One will show up when you
    sign in. If you download a game on the other console you will be able to pick up were you left off in the bedroom because your saves are in the cloud too.
