Multiple Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Issues - PC Bluetooth Mode

I’m having several issues with my Series 2 controller, especially while connected through Bluetooth.

Running current version of Windows 11 with updated controller firmware. All drivers up to date.

Main Issues – all while connected via Bluetooth (wired is fine)

When Game Bar option is turned on, pressing the ‘A’ button also brings up the game bar, as if pressing the guide button. It also registers the ‘A’ button as being pressed in the game. Turning off the game bar option seems to solve this, but then I obviously lose that functionality.

When running Steam, even with game bar option off, pressing or holding the ‘A’ button will activate the ‘Guide Button Chord’ options. For example, if I’m holding up on the left analogue, then so much as tap the ‘A’ button, the system volume adjusts. It’s as if Steam thinks I’m pressing the guide button, when I’m actually pressing ‘A’. I know I can remove all the individual configurations, but Steam still thinks I’m pressing the ‘A’ button. This will override the game and make it unplayable.

If I’m running a game from another launcher, like xbox or epic, the above issue occurs if steam is just running in the background.

Plugging in wired solves all these problems, however when I unplug, the controller will no longer connect via Bluetooth. I have to forget the device and add it again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Xbox wireless adapter uses the proprietary wireless radio technology built in to the Xbox controllers rather than bluetooth, which is in theory a higher performance wireless standard. If you already have a bluetooth receiver in your PC, then you don't
need to purchase the adapter and can just sync the controller using bluetooth. Alternatively, you can connect the controller using the included USB C to USB A cable that comes with the Elite Series 2. Whether you use the bluetooth radio, or Xbox wireless adapter,
you can absolutely sync multiple controllers to your pc via a single receiver.

Customizing user profiles on a Windows 10 PC is not supported via Bluetooth. Any Bluetooth capable Xbox One controllers will need to be plugged in via USB-C or through the Xbox Wireless Adapter if you want to customize and use custom profiles. The Xbox Accessories
app will not detect your controller over Bluetooth connection.

Use the Xbox Accessories app to customize your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2  

Things to keep in mind:

The Xbox Accessories app is only available on Xbox One and Windows 10.
To configure the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, get the Windows 10 May 2019 Update (or later) and make sure your PC has the latest fixes.

The elite controller has a lot of technology under the hood, and compatibility issues do arise from time to time. Try disconnecting it first then trying on the PC.

After, this problem, I took the controller back to the sho and purchased the elite 2 controller and still have the same problems.

I have a PC my Son has an Xbox.

Are you suggesting that I connect to that first then disconnect then try on the PC.

Can I ask why you don't just update Xbox accessories so it puts everything right.

I will try what you have suggested but I can't understand why a massive company like yours won't put things right correctly.

I've also noticed it connects as the 360 controller in the drivers section and won't find any other drivers.

Also I can't seem to update the elite controller 2 on Xbox ACCESSORIES.
