Multiple Xbox accounts on Xbox app on Laptop

I got a gaming laptop about 2 months ago and have been using one account to play Xbox games on the Xbox app, but I would like to play sea of thieves which all of my content on is on a different account and I don't want to lose all my progress, I tried just signing our of one account on the Xbox app and trying to sign into the other on the Xbox app but “windows hello”wanted a “pin”, which that account doesn't have, and it wasn't telling me to create one, it wanted one that it thought existed, i had also already entered my password but that didnt work. I just want to be able to sign into a different account to play sea of thieves, basically switch between them like you can on Xbox. I don't understand why on the app you can't have multiple accounts signed into like on the actual console but you can't. And for now I'm just gonna have to hope that they add that feature and I can get help with my current problem in a different way. Thank you and please respond soon.

Hi GalaxyOwl, my name is Joel, I'm here to help you with any problems or questions you may have.

GalaxyOwl, you and all users can log out of a Microsoft account in the Xbox App and in Microsoft Store and log in with another account as many times as you want. I'm afraid in your case what is happening relates to the Microsoft account you used to set up your device and to which you configured a login PIN in Windows Hello, and that is the setting you need to disable.

To completely close the session in both the Xbox App and Microsoft Store and log in with the account you wish to use. Try resetting the 'Xbox App' as well as the 'Microsoft Store' from the Windows menu > Settings > Apps & features > app name > Advanced options > Reset.

Restart your device and then log in to both applications with the same account you want to use.

Are both the xbox and app on the same account also if you have multiple laptops linked up it can sometimes stops it working.

Just so that I understand you have 2 MS accounts one on your Xbox and one on your laptop.

You sign in on your laptop with your laptop account and pull up the Xbox app and it automatically signs you in to your laptop account on the xbox app?

There is no way to stop the automatic sign in on your laptop with your laptop MS account. You can however once you bring the app up change what account you are signed into by

Right clicking on your profile pic in the upper right corner of the app and going to sign out this will bring a box up a sign in button when you click on that it will then bring up a box wanting you to sign in with your current account signed into your
laptop under your email at the top there is a link that says Not you? you can click on that and sign into your xbox account unless you add your Xbox account to your laptop and change switch to that account when you want to use the xbox app you will have to
go through the steps of signing into your xbox account in the steps above.

To make sure, are you logged into the Xbox App on your Windows 10 laptop specifically, with that account? If so, try signing out of the Xbox App, then reboot your laptop, and sign back into the Xbox App again after that. Do you see any change?
