    I recently purchased another Xbox 360 console for our household. I have my own Xbox Live Gold account, and so does my young son, and we have a pretty large collection of games. In the past we've shared a console, but now that we have two consoles, I'd like
    to be able to play co-op together. I have his access locked down pretty tight with the parental controls, since he's still in elementary school.

    My question is, how can I enable "online" play with just his friends? I was looking through the system settings, trying to set it up so we could play co-op Minecraft together, and I had to enable online gaming for his profile. That makes me a little nervous,
    because I don't want him playing with strangers.

    I'm aware of "System Link", but I don't want to set up an "ad hoc" network, because the consoles are connected to a functioning Internet connection.

    What's the best way to accomplish this? Is it even possible? I'd like for him to be able to play certain age-appropriate games with me and other known friends and family, but I absolutely don't want him playing online with anyone that's not known to me as
    his father. Can system link somehow be modified to work on the same subnet, without trashing our internet connectivity for patches and downloads?

    I suggest you to set the parental controls for that console. The Xbox 360 console lets you customize and manage your family's access to games, movies, and television content. The Xbox 360 parental controls can be used to control both the console itself and
    access to content on Xbox Live, including:

    Which games can be played.

    Which movies and TV shows can be watched.

    How long each family member can use the console on a daily or weekly basis.

    Whether or not a family member can access Xbox Live.

    The 360 has many parental control features including a family timer, where you can set a time for the console to shut itself off.

    I am not sure how you would monitor if he is online or not without a second console.
