Multiple Problems

I'm having multiple problems with my console.

- Games not starting / freezing / crashing

- Save game data being erased from the HDD

- Entire game data being erased from the HDD

- Controller not connecting to the console

- Console not turning on

- Console performing a system reset randomly

I know most (all) of these issues have been addressed in the forum but has anyone else had THIS many problems all together with their system? What should I do?

Multiple problems

I'm having so many problems I don't know where to start... First I setup the xbox with no problems at all. I was exploring the home layout just checking things out, everything seemed to be working ok. I started watching tv trying to get a feel for the
live tv feature and everything worked good except I could not change the channel with voice commands or the one guide. So I turned it off and tried tv again, still couldn't change the channels. I then reset factory settings and went thru the process again
but this time the picture comes on and freezes. No audio, just a still image. I turned the xbox off and unplugged it for a few minutes, plugged it back in and same thing. As soon as the tv starts playing, it just freezes the picture and stays stuck like that.
So I gave up on the tv part. Now I'm just trying to play a game. I successfully installed the game after taking forever to install. It looked like I was going to get to play. It said Microsoft studios then showed the cry engine sign thing, then just freezes
on a black screen until I turn it off. I've tried unplugging and resetting 4 times and it just freezes every time in the same spot. Now some how the wireless network got disconnected. I go to settings to reconnect and I go to enter my network password but
no keyboard comes up to let my type in the password. I press B to go back, nothing happened, I press home, nothing happens. Its just stuck asking for my password but I can not do anything. I have been at this for 4 hours now just trying to do anything, and
I can't do a single thing. This is all just so frustrating! I just want to play!

 

Multiple Connection Problems..

It seems that I'm having yet another problem with my Xbox360 Slim/Xbox Live. The problem started two days ago, when I was unable to receive any messages or notifications for about 2-3 hours after Xbox Live being fully functional all day. I did not sign on
yesterday as my Gold membership has run out. Today, when I attempt to sign onto my profile, I receive the message that there is a problem with my connection. I ran the test and everything was working properly. I deleted my profile and tried to recover it,
and I'm now getting two messages; first that there's a problem with my connection, which there isn't, then when I select "Try Again", I am told "Xbox LIVE Signup is currently unavailable, please try again later." despite the website reporting that all aspects
of Xbox Live are functional.

 

That's hell of a lot of problems.

With the saves. Are you always connected to Live?

Saves are automatically synced to the cloud and only cached on the hard drive. If you play while offline a lot then saves might not get synced. This can also cause problems if your system clock is wrong as saves may have the wrong date stamped on them and
get erased next time your console is online and synced. Whenever you disconnect the power the system clock is reset to something like 2013. If you don't connect to live the clock will stay wrong and cause problems.

But due to the other problems there may be something else wrong.

You could try doing a factory reset?

If factory reset doesn't fix it and your console is still under warranty then it might be worth taking it back to the shop to be replaced.

 

I am always connected to live. That's another problem then. Nothing has synced to the cloud. Next step will be a factory reset.

Earlier today while playing FIFA the system reset itself and that erased a majority of my saved items and deleted 3 games from the HDD including FIFA. Not sure what's exactly happening. System is up do date.

Seems like it's a dud system. I will do a factory reset and go from there.

Take the console back to where you bought it, get a refund, and wait until Microsoft releases an updated XBOne, with decent software and reliable hardware components.

That, or get a PS4. They have a lot less hardware and software issues. The main one being seemingly capped internet speeds on that console and maybe some PSN issues here and there.

I just got a One, like 15 hours ago. I've spent more time hard resetting it because of freezes than actually playing games, or doing much of anything else.

Consoles should focus on what they do best - playing games, but Microsoft is focusing too much on making their console work like a PC that they are completely ruining the experience for the one thing this thing should do decently well.

I don't think anyone should be buying these until they fix the issues it has, which are quite extensive at this point.

 

I've had my xbox one for almost a year with no problems til now, my xbox freezes when I'm not playing. Doesn't wanna read discs that I was just playing unless I turn off and unplug my system. I have to do that repeatedly for no reason.

HELP!!!
