Multiple headsets not working on multiple controllers after update can talk through the mic...

Same issue. Tried multiple headsets, multiple controllers, multiple batteries, multiple hard resets. I can hear party, but mic never activates. Was working fine, then walked out of range. Since then, I can't get it to work.

I've tried all the obvious things. Multiple controllers, multiple adapters, multiple headsets, updating controllers, firmware updates, etc etc been through a lot of support mazes and nothing has helped thus far.

NeoGTI, your mic not working isn't the headset, I'd bet on it. A ton of us are having the exact same problem sonce microsoft's september update.

I've tried 3 different mics (one of them literally brand new in the box) on multiple different controllers, and the actual microphone doesn't work on any of them after that update.

The issue is on microsoft's end, not ours.

Thanks for responding. I've tried the suggestions already with no success. The system is an xbox 1s. It is a wired headset connected to the controller. I've tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers. I have sound for both the games and other people in the chat but the mic is not working for any of the headsets, one of which is brand new. Thanks for any help with this.

Your headset is not working at all? You state no mic, that is not working either? If it is not working and you tried it in multiple controllers. Your headset could be bad or need replacing. Try using it on a phone or PC see if it works.
