Multiple errors/issues

So after having not touched my perfectly working xbox 360(black 360) for a few weeks, I hop on because i want to play Assassins creed rogue I got for Christmas. I go redeem the code for additional content and while it was downloading, I went to start up
the game. It prompts you to download game data prior to playing so I click continue and it begins to download. It stops 3/4th of the way through saying that the download cannot be completed and the game data will need to be reinstalled. So I click on and
try to redownload it and get the same thing. I then try to go back to xbox home and I get the following message: some xbox 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update will be needed and in order to do so you need to restart the console. So
naturally I click restart and what do I get? A RED LIGHT! I've never had a single problem with my 360 until this point and I am so mad. On top of that I shut off the xbox and hopped back on to see if I could get it to work and noticed that my add on download
stopped SO I went to redeem the code to download it again and it won't let me because I already used the code. It's also nowhere to be found so now I am cheated out of the additional content and my girlfriend basically wasted money on purchasing the limited
edition. To say the least I am absolutely furious and I am assuming the red light means the unit is broken, which is ridiculous.

ok see if this solves your issue, go to system > storage and press LB RB x LB RB x and select yes to clear the system update, then reboot the Xbox and download the update again and see if it has solved your issue

If this does not work then the power surge / outage may have damaged your Xbox 360 equipment.

If you are still in warranty then you can send the Xbox 360 in for repair for free to have it fully checked over, here is the link to check your warranty status and to setup console / accessories repairs

This may be a problem with your hard drive device. If possible try using a different hard drive and see if you get the same results.
