Things you have tried:

Was chatting to my brother on Xbox Live, signed out, reset my internet, signed back in. Tried to open Halo: Spartan **** and was met by this error: 0x87de2720.

Read online that holding the power button to reset the xbox helps this issue, so tried that. Turned my xbox off and on again, and was then met by this error when trying to sign in: 0x80048883

Removed all accounts from my xbox, turned the xbox off and on again, tried to install my profile back onto the console and received this error: 0x80a4002

Researched online, and tried many different things to fix it: Change firewall settings, parental control, remove the device from the network and put it back on, changed security info on my account (incl. two step verification). I still couldnt sign in.

Factory restored my xbox as a last resort, did all the set up (link to internet and install update again), go to the page to add a profile and received this error again: 0x80a4002.

I now cannot get onto the dashboard without making a profile...

XBOX Live Connection/Disconnection Issues

Just to be clear, your not using multiple xboxes (two xboxes using one router)?

Can you try unplug all the other devices incl. the Netgear wireless extender and just have the Xbox connected. Is there by any chance that you can try using a different modem/router?

I changed my DNS settings to Manual (using DNS from OpenDNS) and it now seems to have solved the issue.

However, can I keep using these DNS settings, or will this be only a temporary fix?

hmmm... i tried to find that option on my modem, but i couldn't...

But now i know for sure that the error i got (0x80a4002 and 0x80048883) are related to my modem...

i tried to connect with my windows phone (by bridge) and it succeeded. now i have to find what is the problem with my modem...

That error code suggests an issue with your storage device.

If you have multiple devices remove them all and try the update with one at a time in. If you only have one storage device then it may need to be replaced.
