    multiple defective controllers.

    Dear Microsoft.

I have already talked about this with MS via webchat and been pointed to write it up here :

    http://support.microsoft.com/common...l=http://www.xbox.com/en-US/#fbid=8lNxzkgXfSe

only problem is the character restrictions so I decided to let my story be heard on forums.

Last Monday (07.01.2014) I received my Xbox One console. Almost immanently I have noticed that the VIEW button on the controller was defective - in order for its press to be registered it requires to be depressed very deep and hard. After contacting Microsoft
via webchat I have been advised to get in touch with the reseller I got my console from as the replacement process should be the easiest/quickest this way.

That is exactly what I have done. However since I have not received a response from GAME to my query yet, I decided to purchase another controller, which sooner or later I would do anyway, and use it during the replacement period that will eventually take
    place.

This is where my reason for writing this occurs. The first controller that I purchased was from my local ARGOS. This unit had properly operating VIEW button, however right trigger vibrator was defective - the vibration was barely noticeable in comparison
to the left trigger as well as both triggers on my original controller which I still have with me. Returned it for refund and went to my local ASDA to try my luck.

The second controller’s vibrators were working OK but the vibrator in the right trigger seemed loose or something and was making rattling noise when operating (again, as opposed to the left one and both on my original controller). Also the buttons under
the analogue stick, when pressed were making horrible crunching noises all along the travel distance (sounds almost like a spilled sweet juice that dried out – just a comparison). None of which was present in my original controller.

I took it back for a replacement. Unbelievably, the replacement controller had different yet issue. The left triggers’ assembly was catching on something and making a gentle grinding noise along all travel distance. It’s subtle, but noticeable enough to
be annoying. I can also feel it with my finger when I use it. Upon inspection I also found out that when trigger was bottomed out, it made the adjacent shoulder button to recess slightly. Which I believe is a showcase of something going horribly wrong with
    it.

In just a minute I am taking it back for a refund and I will try a different store again.

My point here is – what the hell is going on with quality control of these controllers. I do not doubt that they are checked thoroughly (as reassured by MS representative via webchat), as really none of the controllers was dysfunctional, but the problem
lies with the QUALITY of them. If the way they are "checked" is to find out whether or not all aspects of it are operating - then there is a problem.

If one controller’s features/buttons behave in a certain way (i.e. my original one is a reference for ma at this point, as the only wrong thing with it is dodgy VIEW button) I expect all of them to be exactly the same. As I described above – they are not.
And this is absolutely unacceptable to me.

Someone needs to seriously look into this.

    :)

    Left Trigger??

Since you say you tried multiple controllers:

Did you turn off the "faulty" controller, or did you simply sign up a second and third controller and the first, defective controller is messing up with the "stuck" trigger, so you think the other controllers also have a defective left trigger?

  3. Left Thumbstick Issue

I have two defective controllers and it makes Absolutely Zero sense to purchase another controller that becomes defective because of Microsoft.

Not sure why you are experiencing all these issues with controllers. I received my XBOX One on 11/22/2013 and also purchased a second controller 2 days earlier. Both have been working flawlessly in terms of sticks & buttons doing what they are supposed
to be doing. . The only issue I have encountered is the battery tangs and cover do tend to get a little looses from time to time. However in all honesty - this might be from the controller falling to the floor from time to time.

Same here - Day One edition and another purchased separately. Both are fine - no issues.

    Will do.

And the funny thing is that I would understand a faulty batch. But that should mean all wound have the same defect where as here every single one has something different wrong with it.

I must highlight that even though all of those defects were clearly noticeable tome, I can imagine that if a little kid got any of them - he might have been all-right with it.

I do have a little OCD about things being "perfect within reason" which is why I did get my parter confirm each time that I am not going crazy imagining things ...

What country are you in by chance? I wonder if the batches are produced in different regions?

    and the story continues.

Bought another one. The VIEW button was only okay-ish. Much better than on my original one, but surely not as good as on some of the ones I already had in my hands. On top of that left trigger rumble rattling horribly in comparison to the right one as well
as both on my original controller.

Took it back for another replacement. This one had perfect VIEW button. Not as sensitive as the MENU button - I could still press it light enough to make it not register the press, but surely it was good enough for me to want to keep it. However ... rattle
from left trigger again. I spent some time testing it and turns out the rattle actually comes from the shoulder button that is vibrating when the rumble motor from the trigger is operating. Now the question is why are the ones on my original controller SO
MUCH better ? And also why is the left one so much worse form the right one (btw, I had one unit which had the right rattling and left OK ...)

I think it may have something to do with the fact that the latest controllers' shoulder buttons micro contracts were (as I found out upon even closer inspection/comparison) completley different form the ones on the other controler that I have. They do not
have the same nice click-y feedback, are much softer to press. On top of that, they were different to each other as well - the rattling one was even softer and had not enough resistance in it. Felt as if it will wear out quickly and start making double click
or something. Again, BOTH shoulder buttons on my original unit not only operate the same, but have very distinct loud-ish click that requires just enough force to press down.

There is absolutlley no consistency in these controllers. Every single one is different and has some odd thing wrong/off with it,... I see how this would pas "does it work" quality inspection, but there is more about these things than just that.

    mind blowing.

I live in the u.s and my friend has two controllers that rumble when the vibration engages, also one of my controlers has a loose thumb stick and the other one I use for COD I already wore a groove in it from sprinting..
