Multiple consoles one game download

Hi, I know you cant play on one profile at the same time on two consoles but I was wondering if you downloaded a game on one console and download your profile to a second in the same household will you have to pay for the game again to download it to console
two in the same household without transferring the license?

I ask because my son had just got a new 360 for his room and we would like to download Garden ware-fare to play a multiplayer game together. Me of course playing on the first console in the living room with my Gold account and he on his in his bedroom with
his Gold account.

2 Xbox ONE consoles in one house. How do I buy games for both consoles and with out buying 2 disk?

I have multiple units in the house. I heard you could buy one disk and play it on multiple consoles at the same time. Is this true? Or can I download a game on one Xbox and play it on the other?

On the One, this is MUCH easier to accomplish due to consoles being the "Home" console. On the 360, it is much trickier.

From what I remember -- You would have to purchase the game on his console with your gamertag. This would mean the game is tied to your gamertag and his Xbox. You'd then have to log into your other console and download the game. As far as I'm aware this
is the only way to do this. I'm sure someone can clarify.

 

The purchase is tied directly to the account its purchased on. The other account will have to buy the game separately.

 

Okay, so say if I only have on console and I download a game to it but it has multiple Gold accounts created on it, you're saying that the game can only be used by one account on that console? I am fairly certain I have downloaded games before from my account
and played them across all the gold accounts on my first console. That being said you would assume it would be tied to a console and not an account.

 

On the 360 the downloads are tied to the purchasing tag and the console it was first downloaded to. On that first console any account can use the content. On another 360 however only the purchasing account can use it and then only when connected to Live.

The One is slightly different. If an account sets a One as its 'Home' then all accounts on the console can use it. Only one Xbox One can be the Home console for an account.

Don't know why Xurts thinks otherwise.

 

Yes, on Xbox 360 the license for the game is tied to the console itself, anyone using that console can play it, but you can't move it to another console without going through the whole license transfer procedure. Xbox One is a little more flexible, you can
share games with friends and play on different consoles and stuff because the license is tied to your gamertag.

You'll have to buy another copy of the game for your son's console if you want to play multiplayer. I think it's on sale now for about $10 though.
