Multiple accounts and same console

My kids got an XBox for Christmas and we have created 4 accounts on it. Two adult accounts and an account for each kid. Games were installed while logged into one of the parent accounts. The issue is that when one of the kids signs in and selects a game
to play, it says "Do you own this game?" blah blah blah and they cannot play the game. They then have to sign in as the parent account that the game was installed under to be able to play. I have gone in to all 4 accounts and set this console as the Home
XBox AND I have added the three other accounts to the main account as Friends. There is no Live Gold account subscription...yet.

So why can't the three 'other' accounts just sign in and play the games? This is ridiculous and confusing as hell. What do I have to do to allow the three other accounts to fire up the game using their profile without having to sign in with the main/initial
account that purchased/downloaded/installed the game?

Setting the Home Xbox does not appear to do the trick nor does adding them as 'friends'.

Gotta say this is a crappy experience. Was Ballmer involved with this?

I understand having a default mechanism for not allowing just any account to play the games on THIS console, but I am explicitly TRYING to allow certain accounts to play the games on this console...so what the heck have I done wrong or what am I missing?

Is there a resource online that describes this with a flow chart of how this works or is supposed to work? This support site sure doesn't help.

And for the love of God, please make the forums easier to search.Surely someone else has had this same problem.

DLC Sharing on Same Console Multiple Accounts

We purchased the DLC on the adult account and the child accounts could use it. Hope this is the case for other DLC too. I didn't try the Home Xbox setting but i think you have a point. Thanks

Hey mate,

I beleive if you set your console as your Home console, then anyone who uses that console should be able to access the DLC.

This sound like something wrong. It should allowed all six profile should have access to those games on the same console.

 

I can't quite get my head round this one. You should only have the xbox set to home Xbox for the main account and the others gamertags should be able to play.

Is it an age thing? Is the game for instance an 18 and over game and all the kids accounts have their real D.O.B? Coz that could stop it, i think.

Other than that Just try having the account that bought the games being set as home and leave the others.

 

did you put any blocks on the kids account and they are trying to play a mature game?
