    Multiplayer privilege issue


    Tonight I bought 3 months of gold for my son to play online (specifically left 4 dead 2). He has no restrictions on his account and the gold status is live. Everytime he tries to join a multiplayer game it comes up with "You
    must be signed into a profile with multiplayer privileges to play online”

    We've tried hard reset of xbox, removing his account from the console and adding it again. Internet is fine and on the right settings (settings haven't changed since the last time he successfully played
    multiplayer games online).

    Im at a loss as to what else it can be...

    It workes perfectly fine before, has there been a game breaking update or something?

    Yes, but it's always been this setting with full access for everything, don't get what has changed? Do i need to remove him from family group?

    Yes, everything is on Allow.

    • Very Well -- Could you please check if the option to add friends and
      join multiplayer games are set to Allow on Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab; you can do that by Selecting the Child account Gamertag after signing into the Adult account at https://account.xbox.com/en-us/settings

    It looks like that your son's account privacy settings must be changed. Is his account set as " Child Account " in a family Group ?

    Typically, new changes to your Gold subscription status may not be immediately seen by your Xbox.

    Give your Xbox console a proper
    power cycle     and see if that helps.
