Multiplayer Only

I don't like it so I don't buy games like that.

 

I think Titanfall is a great game... but... I burned out on it pretty quick. Note that when I say 'quick' I'm referring to the process of burning out, not how soon I actually got tired of it.

If that seems confusing, let me put it this way. 99% of the games I buy have both SP and MP. Halo is a good example since it (IMO) has a solid SP and MP experience. I got Halo: CE for the SP. Halo 2 got me hooked on MP... but if there was ever a time that
I started getting tired of, or felt frustrated with MP, I simply jumped into SP and bombed around. This was... is IMO, the perfect balance. SP allowed me to just relax and enjoy the game for what it is. I also learned a lot of cool tricks and things in SP
that I doubt I ever would have learned in the fast paced, competitively driven side of MP.

Having a SP aspect for when I want, or need, to 'take a break' from the competitive side of things gives any game a longevity factor that I've never found in a MP only game.

In Titanfall, I made it to Gen 9. Around Gen 6 or 7 is when I got to a point where I was sitting at level 50, waiting to get 1 or 2 challenges completed before I could regen. Some challenges are just frustrating and feel like a complete grind. So... I started
to feel a bit burned out about half way through Gen 8. I have 2 challenges left to finish Gen 9 and I doubt I'll bother with it. That's pretty fast (for me) to go from having a blast with a game to being just plain sick of it. I admit it's entirely due to
the ridiculous (in some cases, for me) challenges.

Now if the game had SP (even a co op horde type mode would've helped) where I could have gotten away from the competitive side and just messed around a little, I probably would still be playing. Of course, it's going to be that much harder for me to want
to pick the game back up and play it again (read as: if I even bother) without a SP or horde type mode to help ease back into it, as opposed to being thrown to the wolves.

Anyway, just my 02 on games with no SP.

 

I'm a bit on the fence about the whole MP only thing. Sure, some shooters out there deserve a MP only title as their campaigns are usually rubbish anyway and people spend 99% of their time playing only the online portion.

As for Titanfall, I bought it, it was exciting for a few weeks and now I'm bored. I guess I'm burnt out from FPS or something. The only time when it becomes remotely fun is when I'm playing it with friends as talking about the match and cooperating makes
it far more enjoyable.

 

I have about 150 hours in Titanfall. That's way more than I get from some single player games I pay full price for. So whenever they decide to shut down the servers, I already got my moneys worth. Honestly, people need to stop wanting every game to be for
them. Some games are going to come out that are just not for you. Instead of wishing they would change the game for you, just let the people who it is intended for enjoy it.

 

well the two games that I really want are going to be MP only, elder scrolls & the Tom Clancy's division, an I do not like that, wish fallout 4 would come out soon or something epic for the SP gamer on the new xbox 1!
