    Multiplayer not functional

To anyone wondering, or who has yet to pick this up for backwards compatibility....multiplayer is still completely broken. I won't bore you with the details, its been going on for more than 2 years. Just google it if you need the details.

The important thing to know is that multiplayer is not in any kind of playable state. Everything is so modded and hacked that you can't play ANY game modes. The best you can do is get into a hacked free roam where nothing spawns. The only thing you can do is
gang hideouts, which auto complete themselves right away. The only way to play a multiplayer game mode is in a private match. So if you'd like to do a shootout or something you better have a whole bunch of friends you can organize a play date with.

If you have any desire to play anything outside of single player just save your money, there is no game to be had here. Rockstars support page has 100's of pages of people complaining/asking/pleading for a fix and there has not been a single response to the
issue from the company. Xbox has also said/done nothing about it, how much blame is on who I can't say. But both companies knowingly pushed this game's backwards compatibility launch hard...and they knew the multiplayer wasn't working. Sales went up 6000%
supposedly....and they knew going into the launch of BC that multiplayer was non functional. Maybe that's why all the multiplayer DLC is free. Because they know you cant even play it if you wanted to. Undead nightmare they make you pay for, because it has
    a functioning singleplayer campaign.

    :)

Old Xbox 360 Pro (In perfectly functioning condition) can't read newer games???

The disc drive is fine, every other game works just fine as I mentioned. The console is fully functional. Even the second disc included (The multiplayer content) reads just fine.

    Minecraft multiplayer not functioning.

    Hello Alden Berkey ,

We appreciate you for sharing this with us and welcome to Xbox Forums.

We understand that you're having trouble with Minecraft multiplayer. Nothing to worry, we'll work on this together.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions that will help us understand further:

    1. Can you provide more details about the error message you are receiving when trying to select the multiplayer option?
    2. Have you checked your multiplayer settings in the game itself, not just on the Xbox settings page?
    3. Do you see any error message when you try to play this game in multiplayer from your end? Can you provide it to me please?
    4. How is your internet connection? Have you tried playing on a different network?
    5. Is your game up to date? Sometimes, outdated versions can cause issues with multiplayer features.

In the meantime, let's make sure that your Microsoft account is properly linked to your Minecraft account. You can check this by logging into your account on the Minecraft website and verifying that your Microsoft account is listed under the "Linked Accounts" section.

If your account is properly linked, the next step is to check your Xbox Live settings. You mentioned that you have already set all account settings to "Allow" on the Xbox settings page, but let's double-check that you have enabled multiplayer specifically. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Xbox website and sign in with your Microsoft account.

    2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "Settings".

    3. Under "Privacy & online safety", select "Xbox privacy".

    4. Scroll down to the "Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety" section and make sure that "Join multiplayer games" is set to "Allow".

If this setting is already set to "Allow", the next step is to check your firewall settings. Make sure that Minecraft is allowed through your firewall by following these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "control firewall.cpl" and press Enter.

    3. Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall".

    4. Scroll down to "Minecraft" and make sure that both the "Private" and "Public" checkboxes are checked.

If Minecraft is already allowed through your firewall, the last step is to try resetting your network settings. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "cmd" and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

    3. Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.

    4. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.

    5. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.

After completing these steps, try launching Minecraft and see if you are able to select the option to play multiplayer. If you are still having trouble, please let me know and we can explore other options.

    Kind regards,
