MultiPlayer Mode

Why is there no support in new games fro squads of more than 4 players? Can the developers not multiply? Or is there some technical reason why in story modes or main game play such as in The Division 2 I am limited to 4 players? And it cant be the hardware...
since games like Fortnite support 100vs 100. So what gives?

As long as they kept the succesful 4 player co-op mode I wouldnt care if they added a VS multiplayer mode. I just think a vs multiplayer mode in Mass Effect would be short lived like some of the other games that tack on a vs multiplayer mode just to say
they have a vs multiplayer.

Thank you for reaching out. It is really difficult to compare two completely different games on the basis of its player cap. You have to take in consideration what the developers are going for in their titles. The Division 2 is a looter shooter with stunning
visuals which emphasizes on co-op PVE. Fortnite on the other hand is a vibrant battle royale game. The direction both of these games take is not due to hardware limitations, but follow an idea set within the studio developing the titles. We are in a special
era of gaming in which multiplayer feels like a buffet. There is something for everyone. If you wish to provide feedback to a particular developer, don't be afraid to reach out to them. Most of the larger studios have social media teams dedicated to community
input.

There are probably game limitations that prevent it. A game like Division where you team up to complete missions probably isn't going to work if you squad up with 100 people.

For story or game modes it has more to do with making the gameplay scale correctly. Online Battle Royale games are easy because it's all Player versus player with a set number of players versus other players. In a story mode it's much more difficult to make
a game that balances correctly, especially when you have to create scenarios for multiple difficulties and player counts.
