Multiplayer (Matchmaking)

Some games people play rarely, like Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 4. Don't know why. A fix I found was that if you hard reset the console (hold the power button down for 10 seconds to restart the console) the Multiplayer suddenly works well again.. weird.
Also, hold out for 2018. The game is getting a major update for online functionality, yes almost 4 years later!

Hey Gamer. There is a difference between "Multiplayer Matchmaking" & "Firefight Matchmaking". If the award specifies multiplayer, you must get it in a multiplayer gametype, such as Team Slayer or CTF. Firefight is usually excluded from those types of awards/achievements
because it is a different environment, and usually easier to get.

Players on Xbox consoles can adjust crossplay options through in-game settings or through the console settings. Please note that console settings will take priority over in-game settings.

Multiplayer Unranked Crossplay (on consoles)

Open the Options menu.

Navigate to Settings and select Account & Network.

Under Multiplayer Unranked Crossplay, select one of the following:

ON: Allow matchmaking with other gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Unranked playlists.

ON (CONSOLE ONLY): Allow matchmaking with other console gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Unranked playlists.

May negatively impact matchmaking quality

OFF: Multiplayer Unranked matchmaking only uses your current gaming platform.

Will negatively impact matchmaking quality



Multiplayer Ranked Crossplay (on consoles)

Open the Options menu.

Navigate to Settings and select Account & Network.

Under Ranked Crossplay, select one of the following:

ON: Allow matchmaking with other gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Ranked playlists.

ON (CONSOLE ONLY): Allow matchmaking with other console gaming platforms when playing in Multiplayer Ranked playlists.

OFF: Multiplayer Ranked matchmaking only uses your current gaming platform.

Follow these steps to Allow or Block crossplay.

Select your Gamertag at the top of the Xbox PC app.

Select Settings.

On the Account tab, scroll down to Privacy settings and select Manage.

On the right side of the screen, select the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab.

Select Allow or Block for the You can join cross-network play option.

Select Submit.

I completely understand what you mean. I just thought the game was actually matchmaking by in-game experience... which, in theory, is how it should be for multiplayer matchmaking
