  1. Multiplayer isn't set up on Microsoft account for Minecraft PS4

So, I'm on a PS4 and whenever I try to got to realms or servers, it says the following:

You cannot play online multiplayer/realms because of how your Microsoft account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow multiplayer. See instructions for changing these settings at aka.ms./MCMultiplayerHelp.

Back to me now, I went to this website before and I saw nothing about changing multiplayer safety settings. Could anyone tell me how to go to safety settings and how to switch on and off multiplayer, or any issues I could be encountering.

    Thanks alot

    :)

Please sign in to account.xbox.com/settings and ensure none of the multiplayer permissions are blocked.

Note that you can't access the link if you are a child account, since you will need an adult account from the family group to change the settings on your behalf!

    PS4 remote connect

    Hi there

Have done the above but ps4 with a different account but Minecraft is not recognising the microsoft account when trying to log in.

Is there a way to reset this remote access to the original account used when setting up Minecraft please?

    thanks

You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your microsoft account is set up.

I wanted to play Minecraft PS4 servers but when i signed into my Microsoft account i couldn't play servers because of the message that popped up "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft account is set up." please help me resolve
this problem because i have nothing on my account restricting this type of play.

Please send advice quickly as possible.
I have the same issue with my children’s accounts. No matter what settings I change, they cannot play with me on my realm.

This is infuriating especially since it’s only affecting minecraft. I can play other multiplayer games with them, though.

    Minecraft multiplayer disabled

    Hi there Nebojsa K.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues playing Minecraft multiplaye.

Let's go through a comprehensive list of potential issues and solutions to get you connected.

    Verify Microsoft Account Settings
Ensure your Microsoft account settings allow multiplayer gaming:

Go to Microsoft's Privacy & Online Safety settings. Ensure that settings under "Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety" are set to allow multiplayer gaming. Look for options like "Join multiplayer games" and make sure they are set to "Allow."
Check if there are any content restrictions on your account that might block multiplayer access.

    Check Minecraft Account Settings
Make sure your Minecraft account is correctly set up:

If your account is part of a family group, verify that parental controls aren’t restricting multiplayer access. You might need to log in to the parent account to change these settings.

    Update Minecraft
Ensure that your game is up to date:

Open the Minecraft launcher and check for any available updates. Having the latest version is crucial for multiplayer compatibility.

    Check Your Network Configuration
Network issues can often be the culprit:

Your network's NAT type (Network Address Translation) should ideally be set to "Open" or "Moderate." Strict NAT types can restrict multiplayer capabilities. You can check this setting on your console or PC.
For optimal multiplayer performance, you may need to set up port forwarding on your router. Minecraft typically uses port 25565, but the required ports might vary based on your setup and platform.

    Enable Multiplayer on Minecraft Settings
    Ensure multiplayer is enabled in-game:

Open Minecraft, go to "Settings" -> "Profile," and ensure that the "Multiplayer Game" option is toggled on.
Make sure the multiplayer settings in-game are configured correctly. Check for any settings that may be restricting multiplayer access.

    Reinstall Minecraft
Uninstall Minecraft, then download and install it again from the official website or store.

You could also contact Xbox support here: [support.xbox.com/contact-us]

    I hope this helps.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. -Lumie

Cannot figure out how to change my Minecraft settings for multiplayer. Not even sure I'm logging in to the right Microsoft account.... daughter plays on PS5. Help!!!

    Hi there Shannon B.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues using Minecraft multiplayer.

    Start Minecraft on the PS5.
Go to the main menu and select the “Sign in with a Microsoft Account” option.
Note the account details displayed. Ensure that this account matches the one you intend to use for multiplayer features.

    Verify Your Microsoft Account Credentials:

Visit the Microsoft Account website on a computer or mobile device.
Log in with the credentials you think are correct.
Check the account details, such as your gamertag and email, to ensure they match those used in Minecraft on the PS5.

    Change Minecraft Settings for Multiplayer
    On PS5:

    Open Minecraft Settings:

From the Minecraft main menu, go to “Settings.”

    Access Privacy Settings:

Navigate to “Profile” and select “Manage Account” or “Privacy & Online Safety.”
You may be prompted to log in again. Use your Microsoft account details.

    Adjust Multiplayer Settings:

Ensure the options for playing with others and participating in cross-platform play are enabled.
Set permissions for multiplayer games and communicate with others to “Allow” or adjust as needed for privacy.
    Check for PS5 Restrictions:

Go to the PS5’s system settings.
Under “Users and Accounts,” navigate to “Parental Controls/Family Management.”
Ensure there are no restrictions that would prevent multiplayer gameplay.

    On Other Platforms (if applicable):
    Java Edition on PC:

Launch Minecraft and log in with your Microsoft account.
Go to “Options” and then “Multiplayer Settings.”
Adjust settings for visibility, chat options, and multiplayer preferences.

    Bedrock Edition on Other Devices:

Open Minecraft and navigate to “Settings” from the main menu.
Select “Profile” and adjust your multiplayer settings accordingly.

    Sync and Test Multiplayer Features
    Cross-Platform Play:

Ensure that your daughter’s PS5 is connected to the internet and that Minecraft is up to date.
Invite friends through the “Friends” tab in the main menu by adding their gamertag or inviting them from your friend list.

    Join a Server or World:

Test multiplayer by joining a server or another player’s world. Go to the “Play” tab, select “Servers,” and join one of the available servers.
Alternatively, you can join a friend’s world by selecting the “Friends” tab and choosing a world they are hosting.

If you’re facing account issues, make sure no other accounts are signed in on the PS5 that might conflict with your desired Microsoft account.
You might need to log out of other accounts and ensure only the correct one is signed in.

Ensure your internet connection is stable. A weak connection can cause issues with joining multiplayer games.
Restart your router and PS5 if you experience persistent connectivity issues.

Make sure both Minecraft and the PS5 system software are up to date. Sometimes, updates are required for multiplayer functionality.

If your Microsoft account is part of a family group, ensure that your account permissions allow for multiplayer gaming. Adjust these settings on the Microsoft Family Safety website if needed.
Double-check that no parental controls are blocking access to multiplayer features either on the PS5 or within the Minecraft settings.

    I hope this helps.

I shall be here for your response. -Lumie
