    Multiplayer games on PC


    I recently bought a new 64-bit Windows 11 Pro PC which came with one free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. I'm 77 years old and know almost nothing about Xbox. But I have teenage grandchildren. How many players can play in an Xbox game on this PC. That is, how many Xbox X|S wireless controllers could be in use at once in local play (i.e., without considering online play). (The machine IS a gaming PC - I had to buy it to allow install of two 6 TB hard drives in addition to the 1 TB SDD). Specs: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700KF 3.60 GHz; 16 GB RAM; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card.

    Four controllers?

    not many games at all in gamepass pc allow multiplayer locally, but on pc in general there are thousands of games that support local multiplayer with 4 or more players.

    there are more local split screen games on pc than all consoles combined but you won't find them on gamepass.

    "With Xbox Wireless connections, you can connect 8 Xbox Wireless Controllers simultaneously, or 4 controllers with Xbox Chat Headsets attached. If the controllers have Xbox Stereo Headsets, only 2 can be connected simultaneously."

    In regards to playing together, this will depend on the game, for example, in the game "It Takes Two" from EA, only 2 players can play together. It will really depend.

    PC is great play all my MMO's on there. I used to play FPS multiplayer on PC back when America's army was big...and tribes 2 :) Anyway made the jump to consoles for multiplayer gaming and never looked back. Now with mmo's coming to consoles i'm very
    curious if it can replace my pc mmo gaming.
