Hi Daniel! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry your sister is experiencing this with her Minecraft account.

I just want to confirm, Is your sister's account a child account? A child account is 17 years old and below registered on the account's birthdate.

If yes, is her account added to your Microsoft family as a family member and your account as the adult/organizer account?

Note: The Xbox privacy settings can only be accessed if you're an adult account (18 years old and above.)

If yes, kindly try to perform the following workarounds just in case this would work according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...ttings by selecting View details & customize.

"Sign in to your (Organizer) Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select your gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & online safety. Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you might have to enter your password or PIN.

Select your sister's gamertag for the account that you want to manage.

Select the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the options as "Block", and then select Submit to save the changes."

Then sign back into your adult account and update all of the options on your sister's account as "Allow" and "Everyone", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Wait 24 hours to make sure the changes will be applied.

After signing out, sign in again using your sister's account in the Microsoft Store and Minecraft launcher, then check if she will be able to access the Minecraft multiplayer feature.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best Regards,
    Darhyl

It appears as though Microsoft servers just needed time to process my changes. The problem was solved by waiting about 12 hrs

    Minecraft multiplayer not functioning.

    Hello Alden Berkey ,

We appreciate you for sharing this with us and welcome to Xbox Forums.

We understand that you're having trouble with Minecraft multiplayer. Nothing to worry, we'll work on this together.

Before we proceed, I will be asking you few questions that will help us understand further:

    1. Can you provide more details about the error message you are receiving when trying to select the multiplayer option?
    2. Have you checked your multiplayer settings in the game itself, not just on the Xbox settings page?
    3. Do you see any error message when you try to play this game in multiplayer from your end? Can you provide it to me please?
    4. How is your internet connection? Have you tried playing on a different network?
    5. Is your game up to date? Sometimes, outdated versions can cause issues with multiplayer features.

In the meantime, let's make sure that your Microsoft account is properly linked to your Minecraft account. You can check this by logging into your account on the Minecraft website and verifying that your Microsoft account is listed under the "Linked Accounts" section.

If your account is properly linked, the next step is to check your Xbox Live settings. You mentioned that you have already set all account settings to "Allow" on the Xbox settings page, but let's double-check that you have enabled multiplayer specifically. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Go to the Xbox website and sign in with your Microsoft account.

    2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner and select "Settings".

    3. Under "Privacy & online safety", select "Xbox privacy".

    4. Scroll down to the "Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety" section and make sure that "Join multiplayer games" is set to "Allow".

If this setting is already set to "Allow", the next step is to check your firewall settings. Make sure that Minecraft is allowed through your firewall by following these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "control firewall.cpl" and press Enter.

    3. Click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall".

    4. Scroll down to "Minecraft" and make sure that both the "Private" and "Public" checkboxes are checked.

If Minecraft is already allowed through your firewall, the last step is to try resetting your network settings. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type "cmd" and press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

    3. Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.

    4. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.

    5. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.

After completing these steps, try launching Minecraft and see if you are able to select the option to play multiplayer. If you are still having trouble, please let me know and we can explore other options.
