  1. Multiplayer Connection Horrible With Xfinity Router on XB1

So we've had an **** TG862-CT DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway running on Xfinity's home internet service for a while now. I have an Xbox One. We have always had Xfinity and have never had many problems on wireless. Now, after moving the Xbox upstairs in our house, the
wireless connection is terrible. We can't move the gateway upstairs as connecting the coaxial cable to the wall outlet up here doesn't provide internet. I'm not the one paying the bills. I don't know if we opted to have wired connection up here. I'm just trying
to fix the internet... I am running on approximately 20 mbps upload and download speeds all the time on the Xbox. I have tried port forwarding, I have set a static IP, I have bought a $70 wireless range extender. I have Open NAT. I have tried DMZ, UPnP, EVERYTHING!
So why the hell is everyone floating in midair in BO3 and why do I get "Connection Interrupted" every 3 1/2 seconds? Please help.

    :)

  2. Getting 100% high packet data loss - RESOLVED!

Testing multiplayer wireless connection and was getting an error message.

Tried connecting Xbox One S to our **** wifi router/modem supplied by Xfinity and kept getting the error message "100 % high packet data loss".

Tried all troubleshoot options and no success.

Had Xfinity come and swap out the original **** router/modem with a Cisco router/modem and the issue was cleared.

Don't know the difference between the two because both router/modems were similar just different manufacturer.

    Hope this post helps!

Is the outlet upstairs live? Can you connect your TV and receive cable TV?

These residential gateways are barely functional at best for gaming. It is much better if you can get the gateway in the same area as the XBOX and run it wired.

The farther away from the gateway you move the console the weaker the wireless signal and the better chance for interference therefore making your connectivity less reliable.

The ideal solution would be to get a cable modem (or run the ARRIS in bridge mode) and a good gaming router and either centralize the router ( to optimize your wireless signal) or run the xbox wired.

  5. Genesis1953,

I have no way to test that the outlet is live as far as I know... Is there an easier way to test it? I plugged my router in and it didn't get internet, so I guess that's a no. Is there a way to self-activate it? I took off the wall plate and there is a cable
connected, so I don't know what the problem is... Would I be able to save my parents the Comcast call by just fixing it myself? Also, as far as I know, Xfinity supports very few modems and routers with their HSI, as the last time they came out to check on
the internet, they took away the gateway that we ourselves had bought and we got trade-in value for "this better gateway for optimized speeds." Pffft. The ideal thing for me would be to get this coax outlet working.

  6. That gateway is known for wireless issues , just leave it where it is and run some cat5 or cat 6 to it....or like Genesis said , get a better wireless router ...cable is MUCH cheaper though , and a better connection...

The easiest way to test it would be just to connect a TV to the outlet and see if you get a picture on the TV. That is assuming you also get cable TV from Infinity. If it is not working since you don't have any experience with it you probably don't want
to try to fix it yourself. It may be something simple but maybe not.

Sure they wanted to take your equipment and provide you with their "better" equipment because you pay monthly for their equipment. It appears that Infinity supports a range of cable modems. Here is just one example. accessories.us.dell.com/.../productdetail.aspx,

Without being able to investigate the issue with the outlet it is extremely difficult to help determine what the problem might be. You could get Infinity to come out and check it out for you.

Another possibility would be a wireless signal extender to boost the wireless signal but that just adds another layer of equipment to manage.

The easiest fix for you at this time is to move the XBOX closer to the router to strengthen the wireless signal or run in wired. Probably not what you wanted to hear but unfortunately it is the best solution. I know you guys don't want to spend any more
money but believe me if you get it right you will never be sorry.

  9. If the coax cable upstairs is "dead" you need to find where the Xfinity cable comes into your house and start tracing it , might have just unscrewed if from a splitter somewhere (too many splitters are a problem of their own )....WARNING !!! these cables
often enter the home in the attic or crawl space , VERY scary things can sometimes be found there...

I ran "home runs" from the box to all the rooms in my house and even had two run to my office/computer room/gameroom and living room. Since I did all that and have a good gaming router with a cable modem I have fast reliable service. That's why I said
if you get it right you will never be sorry.
