    me and me friend both have each others accounts set as home. i bought COD and it wont let him download it on his xbox even tho my account is set to home on his xbox. wondering if anyone knows how to fix this issue. any help is appreciated.

    Could just be an account caching issue. Tell him to try a hard reset (hold power button down for 10 seconds) and see if that clears it up after it restarts

    sharing accounts is against the t&c's and can lead to a ban, the home xbox setting is for your household or if you replace your xbox.

    do any other accounts have the Xox you are playing on set as their home Xbox?

    And if so do they have the digital rights to any of those games, either a digital purchase or game pass subscription?

    As xOx DECOY xOx said, self repair & modding the Xbox console isn't supported or allowed. Buying a new Xbox would fix your issues.
