    MSFS (via xbox app on windows 10) crashing when controller is plugged in


    Hello. I have the newest generation Xbox controller and I have a cable for USB to USB type C. I opened up Microsoft Flight Simulator with the controller plugged in and when i hit a to start it pauses and then instantly crashes. I tried updating MSFS and updating Windows 10, then the Xbox app and then Verify and Repair in the Xbox App on my PC. I am currently running no mods or anything. The only issue is that if the controller is plugged in, the game instantly crashes.

    I have: An AMD Ryzen 5000 Series running integrated Radeon graphics

    30 GB of RAM

    an MSI Tomahawk motherboard

    A Supernova EV3A 650 GR power supply

    Corsair LL RGB series fans

    Windows 10 Pro

    A case made by Fractal Design (should not matter).

    Hi. My name is Brilliant, an independent advisor, happy to assist you today.

    Is your MSFS crashing on PC or Xbox? Can you try start it with the controller already plugged in since you say it crashes when you plug in the controller.

    You can also try uninstall and reinstall the game.

    Update: With the Nov 10, 2015 release of the newest version of Windows 10, it seems to have included a refresh on the Xbox Accessories app. With the device plugged in via USB, it was about to push an update to the controller.

    You shouldn't need to click the connect button on the controller, just plugging it in via USB should be enough to recognize it by the computer and be able to update through the Accessories app.

    What happens if you start up the Xbox Accessory app first, and then plug in your Xbox One Controller via USB? If you're able to connect with the steps there, try updating your controller with the steps over on
