MSFS requirements.

My laptop is just under the minimum requirements for this flight sim.

As I can’t update graphics card and would need a bigger SSD, it basically means a new PC (too much money for me)

(I do have a separate joystick and throttle)

Then I thought that maybe the cheapest XBOX would work better through a smart tv. Is this my best option?

Hopefully might work with XBox S/X which if I’m right wouldn’t require any game subscription? Sorry I’m completely new to this.

The minimums are the barest of minimums, and especially on a laptop you're not gonna have a good experience trying to force it

An Xbox would be your cheapest hardware option, but will not work with your joystick more than likely.

Your cheapest option is an Xbox Game Pass ultimate subscription and using the cloud, but that only worked with an Xbox pad at this time.

That is one of the few that will work so it's good to go. Make sure the switch is set to the proper platform, PC or Xbox

As long as you buy the game, you don't need a subscription

Ok. That allowed MSFS to start. Now MSFS is giving me a message that a required update is needed and to update from the Microsoft store. But I've run the updates from the store and it says everything is up to date and MSFS doesn't give me an option to trigger a manual update.

So now what?

Thank you for your reply! Unfortunatler none of the actions works. I uninstalled MSFS 2020 and even formatted the disc it was installed on.

The problem now is that both MSFS 2020 and Xbox Gameservices in Microsoft Store are marked with error and requires new download/ update which are also marked with error message as soon as I try to do anything.

No matter what ever I have tried so far ( Windows Store repair, Windows Store repair and components update, among others plus reinstalling Xbox app) I am still not able to install MSFS again.

Maybe the only solution is to reinstall Windows?
