MSFS 2020 Joystick/Throttle Function Mapping Appears Very Limited

Got MSFS2020 downloaded, up and running with no problem. It properly recognized and assigned some default functions to my Thrustmaster joystick and throttle. But it appears the functions that can be assigned are very limited and do not include some relatively
common controls.

For instance, since I have a separate throttle, I don't need to use the slider on the joystick as a throttle. In X-Plane, I've assigned the joystick slider to be the engine mixture control. But if there's a way to assign the mixture control to any button
on the joystick, I can't find it.

The mixture is adjustable using the keyboard, so I know the control function exists in the sim, but there doesn't seem to be a way to assign anything other than the limited default joystick functions to other joystick controls.

Have I missed something somewhere or is this a classic "get it out door" version 1.0 issue?

That did the trick, thanks much! The key was the "Filter" setting...I had missed changing that to "All".

Thanks for your reply, however my problem is getting a smooth throttle action (Ravcore Javellin)

Also how can I assign Top Hat to control internal cockpit views ?

I have the Thrustmaster T.16000M Joystick / TWCS Throttle package. Here is what I discovered in response to your question.

If you go into Controls, highlight your controller , then on the left side, under FILTER, select ALL. Above that in the search box put in MIXTURE (or whatever it is you are wanted to bind to your controller) , click on the magnifying glass and you should
get a whole boatload of mixture settings. I just selected the last one, SET BEST MIXTURE, to my T.16000M slider (Formerly my throttle control).

you don't have to know which button on your joystick has which code.

The dialog to setup the mapping (joystick button to function flighsim) insinde MSFS 2020 will tell you! There is a little find/search button on that screen, you just press any button or axis on your joystick, and MSFS will tell you e.g. it was button 11
oder axis Z.

Hi,

I'm having a bit different issue. My Saitek Cyborg Evo Force joystick does not work properly with P3D and MSFS 2020. MSFS 2020 does recognize the joystick, but I do not have any precision at the controls. After moving
the joystick to the left, for instance, it goes but when you center it again, the aileron does not return. The thrust lever does not work fine as well. I have already installed the latest 64-bit drivers but, turned vibrations off in MSFS2020 but it still not
works. Anyone with a similar problem? Thanks...
