MSFS 2020 directs to Gaming Services in Microsoft Store

The first thing I would need you to do is to make sure that your Windows has the latest update: Select check for updates now, and then select Check for updates. Or, select the Start button, then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates. If there is an available update, select Install now.

After that, you will need to update the Microsoft Store: Select the Start button, and then from the apps list, select Microsoft Store. In Microsoft Store, select See more > Downloads and updates > Get updates. If an update for Microsoft Store is available, it will start installing automatically.

Then, preform the following:

• On the taskbar, select Microsoft Store to open it.
  
• If you don't see Microsoft Store on the taskbar, it might have been unpinned. Here's how to find it: In the search box on the taskbar, enter Microsoft Store, then select it from the list.
  
• After you've opened Microsoft Store, select More > Downloads and updates > Get updates.
  

All available updates should show after that.

About the problem you are having, I recommend that you try the solutions below.

Solution 1:

Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

PC reboot

Install gaming service like you would normally

Solution 2:

Go to your windows settings, go to the tab>applications and resources>Search for Gaming Services, click on it, go to advanced options, and tap repair.

*If it doesn't work, try the alternative below.

Download the Create Windows 10 installation media application from the link below, at the end of the download run the application, and then follow the instructions given by the program at the end click on upgrade. Rest assured none of your files will be lost, this is a system restore that will try to fix this error.

Ok. That allowed MSFS to start. Now MSFS is giving me a message that a required update is needed and to update from the Microsoft store. But I've run the updates from the store and it says everything is up to date and MSFS doesn't give me an option to trigger a manual update.

So now what?

Would you please try the following:

Go to your windows settings, go to the tab> Settings > Apps & Features > Search for "Gaming Services" > Advanced Options > Repair then try again.

Going to add to this. Having the issue on MSFS 2020 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Gamepass games. Same error code, reinstalling does not fix it. Tried repairing the windows store and reinstalling game services to no avail.
