MSFS 2020 40th anniversary not launching

None of that fixed my issue. I guess I’ll submit a request see if they can help me. Rediculious I spent 60$ on a game I can’t play lol.

I can suggest you other things in this case:

A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

Restart the PC and try again

B. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again

C. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

D. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

E. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system (don't worry your content will remain)

As far as I know it’s just this game. I had to previously reset my entire PC and reinstall Windows because I could not for the life of me get it to download on any form of Drive. Fixed the issue after resetting to factory but I don’t want to have to do it again just because the game updated… Roblox and anything else I can download and play fine. For some reason this game just will not launch.

I verified files and game integrity which took 2 seconds. I’ve uninstalled the game and reinstalled. It says 158GB but changed to 1.9 GB, downloads the standard version and digital ownership. I click play the plane flying over some island shows up then a black window takes the screen over and then it shows my desktop.

Are you using windows 10 or 11?
Is this happening only with this game or if you try a different game something similar happens?
What are your hardware specs?
