ms-resource:appname xbox one games / apps

Hi all,

So I have been reading around here about this particular error when you can't turn your xbox one on; then finally after a couple of tries and waiting for the *** green screen to finally figure itself out, it turns on, but the game/app icons and titles are
all missing and are replaced with blank squares that say ms-resource:appname, etc.

I did the factory reset (which I really didn't want to do bc games take forever to install), but I still did it. It worked. Only until I powered off my system and the same scenario happened over again next time I powered it on. I basically lost it and don't
even want to be bothered doing the factory reset everytime I want to use the thing. Does anyone know a legitimate fix to this problem. This is really frustrating.

I am having the same problems with the April update. Xbox video, media player, Halo: Spartan assault, lords of the fallen, Max: the curse of brotherhood and ms-resource;AppName pictures are not showing.

Sorry you're having issues with your console. From what I've seen factory reset is usually the fix. If you're continuing to have this issue I would recommend sending your console in for repair using the link below.
