It is against the forum rules to create comparison threads, or turn a discussion into a comparison thread. This rule is in place because comparison threads usually only lead to console wars and rants about which console has the better specs or fps. I will
leave this thread unlocked so long as the set discussion point remains the focus. That being elder scrolls and gold membership. There is no need at all to being in other console manufactures.



Do not discuss topics that are not related to Xbox or the topic of the forum. This includes creating comparison threads involving other console manufactures.

It is okay, belive me it was not my intention to start a Flamewar or anything! My only intention was to say that i don't like the dicision from MS on that topic, nothing more, nothing less!

Its not something I was pointing at you for but as history has it, comparisons just don't lead anywhere nice. So for the sake of the public, and the majority of people that come here to relax and chat, it's best to set them aside.

To get back on topic, this wasn't unexpected.

Personally I disagree with games being subscription based and having a Xbox Live Gold requirement, but the amount of people it probably hurts is more likely to be few in number. You would likely find more people with Gold subscriptions complaining about it
than without. Which is kind of ironic because they have Xbox Live Gold anyway.

 

I understand SOME frustration, but it's not like the XBL requirement is a surprise. Sure, you dont need PS+ do play it, but while you do need it for most other online games, the majority of people interested in ESO will already have the sub service. Same
goes for XBL. There is a minority that would be interested in the game while not having XBL or PS+, but its a minority and not a huge arguing point. Honestly, if I'm gonna play this game its gonna be on PC, which I assume most of the MMO playing world will
as well

EDIT: After seeing the post saying 'no comprison topics" my mentioning of PS+ is not mean to compare XBL to it, just to say most people will have an online access subscription already in general, across all platforms (except pc)

There we have it, if people don't want to pay for a MMO then don't buy it., this guy gets it.

Wait for it to go F2P in a year or so...

 

This is good news I'm on ps4 now any way and I'm still not going to pay monthly to play this or any other game, and sure a lot of people feel the same and I'm sure no one will want to pay two monthly subscriptions for any game, so the sooner Bethesda realise
they made a bad choice and the game goes f2p the better, hardcore mmo players who dedicate years and hours of there life's to these types of games would pay for in game items anyway , micro transactions in online mmorpg is the future the hardcore get what
they want and those who don't want to or don't have so much time to dedicate to a game can still have fun playing with friends every now and then.

It's a shame about that monthly sub, the game looks fantastic, but like others, I won't pay extra to play.

It's the same as XBL locking apps and f2p behind the paywall it should not require a gold sub and the people who think it's ok are either not capable of using there brains or think making nice forum posts might get them a job at Microsoft. I don't think
it's that big of a deal but to justify it is dumb.

As for Elder Scrolls Online... I don't know the underlying factor to not allow Silvers to play it, when FFXI will allow it. Both games came out near the beginning of their respective console releases. As a previous poster mentioned,
I think the majority of people who will play this won't even be on consoles, but PCs, considering that is where MMO's are predominant.
