MS Jigsaw App issue

MS Jigsaw goes through startup sequence logging in to xbox etc. then following puzzle selection, screen goes black, possibly to load an add and then shuts down. All other MS little games (Ultimate Word Games, Sudoku, Solitaire) work fine with adds.

Any idea how to fix?

Jigsaw dies at the end of loading a puzzle

Have you tried clearing the app data to see if this resolves the issue.

Go to the APPS

Scroll down the app list and select MS Jigsaw.

Then click Advanced options to open the settings and click on reset.

This should clear any corrupted data.

 

Microsoft Jigsaw uses wrong Xbox Live ID when launching from Microsoft solitaire collection

Trying to run Microsoft Jigsaw on my desktop (I use it mostly on my laptop). Each machine is associated with a separate Microsoft account. I was able to sign in to the Xbox live ID I want to use in the solitaire collection App, but when installing and subsequently
launching MS Jigsaw it created and keeps signing in under an Xbox live ID it created on install (associated with the Desktop MS account) Tried signing out and back in... uninstalling/reinstalling... No matter what I do MS jigsaw keeps signing in under this
new, secondary ID it created.... can't find a way to sign out the individual app.... When I click the Xbox live sign in area on MS Jigsaw it opens the xbox live app which shows as being logged in to the correct account....

 

Are you able to try logging into it with another device?

Can you log into it with a different account on the current device?

 

I can log into it and other MS (Arkadium) games withiut issue. Its when its downloaded the puzzle and then the screen goes black, which in other games signifies the loading of an advert, then the game quits. I can log in and manouver within the game fine,
until I select a puzzle to complete.

Thankypiu go the link to their forum, it appears many people have the same issue, but there are no answers that I can find - just the same issue over and over again.

Is this just a fob-off?

 

Have reset the app. Update, the game crashes following/during access for targetted ads.

The Troubleshooter found and fixed an issue. It didn't make any difference to the game though.

 

As documented above, I have no problem logging into xbox games account within the game. Its after selecting a puzzle that it crashes

Is the device you're playing the game on using Intel integrated graphics? If so, it's the driver that's the issue.

My mum had this exact same issue on her Surface. The game would boot up OK, but as soon as she chose a puzzle and it was loading up, the screen would go black, then the game would crash and disappear. An error was logged in Event Viewer each time, listing
a file related to the Intel graphics driver as the cause.

As you suspected, it's loading an ad when it crashes. A full screen video ad.

The solution is to update the Intel driver to the latest version, which you can get from Intel's website. Once you've done that, the ad will play and you can get beyond it and play the game.

The only problem you might have is with Windows Update deciding that you're not running the "correct" driver, which leads it to download and install the driver you were using previously with no option to stop it, then of course the issue returns. What I
did in that instance, was to allow the bad driver to be reinstalled, then I went into Device Manager and rolled back the graphics driver, which put me back on the latest driver again, and when it asked why I was rolling back I chose the option that said the
driver wasn't working properly. That seemed to stop Windows Update from reinstalling the dodgy driver over and over again, however, some people have had to use other means to stop it, but yeah - see how you get on.

 

I ran the updates and then performed the next few steps (did nothing to the game) until I got to the option that said 'clean reinstall of windows'. I stopped there.
