MS Flight Simulator freezes up

I have decided to use the MS FLight Simulator to knock a few hour off MEI

I have gone through three motherboards before settling on a MSI MPG X570 GAMING AMD motherboardwith 8GB.

I installed a Ryzen 5 2600 cpu and NVIDIA GeForce GT730 4gB.

At this point I have 1K invested in the system and I am getting comments from my wife. Getting married just means somebody else complains about your spendig.

The flight simulator was installed from a DVD set but after several aborted loads I managed to download it from STEAM. It does start but now seems to be stuck in the default turboprop Dahler. I intend to install PA44 or at least PA23 but right now I just want to get off the ground.

The task manager shows 6 gb ram in use but the disk io is 100%. Does it do its own swapping.

I'm at a loss as to what to do? Add ram? If I go to a more expensive GPU my head will be handles to me. (that $300 hurt) Not tp mention why a CPU the size of a cookie cost over $200

Shoutl I reinstall the flight simulatr

install linux and use x-plane?

Rent the flight schools simulator?

It is not clear how to reinstall the micro-soft flight simulator. My Steam account is in a weird state as I can't get my username/password

Hi,

I think 8GB RAM is insufficient, you need 16GB. Your CPU isn't too bad, but the GT730 doesn't meet the minimimu spec at all. The game recommends a minimum of the old GTX 770 which is at least 5x faster than your card.

How is your setup to install MS Flight Simulator? I mean, if you own a flight institution (or aeronautical engineering institution) with computers, you can install and license MS Flight Simulator on these computers and let the students use these computers on your education institution.

Now if you want to license MS Flight Simulator to be used on your students home computer (which will change like every year or so), it'll be a different situation.

I think the best option for you is to contact Microsoft about Flight Simulator by submitting a support ticket here (it's the official MS Flight Simulator Support channel):

yes, everything is updated im sure of it.

the only time anything ever freezes on my pc is when flight simulator freezes in which it freezes steam, task manager and discord.

The only information you will find is either on the MS Flight Simulator
website or through developer interviews with media outlets at present and I am sure more information will be released in due course.

Have you thought about signing up for theMS Flight Simulator Xbox Insider Program? It will allow you to be part of shaping how this simulation develops.
