moving xbox profile to different account and email

hi when I was younger my mum set me up and Xbox account with her email and now i would like to put it as my email because my computer is set up with my email and my Xbox game pass and stuff is all on the other email. and its confusing the xbox app and games. need to know if there is a way to move all my game data and Xbox profile to my email thanks

unfortunately nothing can be transferred, the Xbox account IS the Microsoft account, you would need to setup your own account, if your mum keeps the Xbox as her home console you can access all the previously purchased games with the new account, but it does mean starting over.

You have to make a 'dummy' account with a different email to move that profile over to. Then the proper email will be free.

I know you say your kids are only 9 years old and do not want to create them their own email accounts but honestly they will probably thank you in the future when they become adults or want to have their own accounts associated with their xbox and not have
to go through you or your husbands email account because there is no way to move xbox profiles between different accounts. So in the future if your kids want to use their own email for the xbox profile you can only change what email is associated with the
account and not move the xbox profile over to a new account.

So with that in mind it would probably be good to create them their own email addresses and make them child accounts so that you can control their access to different things on the xbox.

So if I understand correctly, you would prefer your new xbox live account moved to the old email address. Correct?

The only way to remove a gamertag from an email address is by moving it to a different email address (Microsoft Account), but in order to do so, the account must be on a console for at least 30 days without it being downloaded in that period.

Besides that, replacing it with the new one, will also result in loss of the balance on the current account, since that would need to be moved too.

You'll first need to move the new Xbox profile onto another email address (Microsoft Account or MSA) in order to free up the MSA. This will allow you to move the old Xbox profile onto your new MSA.
