Moving Xbox One X while console is on with no disc?

I wanted to slightly move my Xbox One X where it sits, but I first ejected the disc inside, which seemed to cause the console to power up. Without thinking, I think gently picked the console up maybe an inch and, while holding it pretty level, moved it maybe
six inches to the side just.

This was all while the console seemed to be powered on after ejecting the game disc. Is there any way this could have damaged other components? The console seems to be just fine--it powers up normally and everything loads. Thanks.

Honestly, if you just moved it a few inches carefully like that, you should be fine. I move mine like that all the time when I'm cleaning. I take my Xbox and everything around it and move it on and off the shelf it's on when I'm dusting at least
once a week. It's always fine. As long as you don't shake it around or drop it, you shouldn't do any damage by just moving it like that.

Yeah, I was really gentle picking it up, and I didn't change its orientation--just lifted it straight up an inch or so and then moved it over a few inches and back down. Thanks for the reply.

Hey Deepsun,

You should be just fine as long as you were very gentle when picking it up and setting it back down. Definitely a good call to eject the disc first, but it is usually recommended that the console be turned off while moving or adjusting it. I have gently
moved my Xbox One X before while it was turned on and I have not had an issue.

The BEST practice is to turn off the power before moving the console, but moving it slightly as you described is probably ok.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, it was a gentle move straight up, and I didn't change the orientation of how it was sitting (e.g. horizontal to vertical), and then I moved it over just a few inches. Thanks for the reply.
