    Moving Xbox Game Bar captures to Xbox companion app (Windows 10)


    Hi everyone, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to move game bar captures on my windows 10 pc to the Xbox mobile application so I can view my captures on the go.

    I download games through Steam, and often use the Win+Alt+G command to record the last 30 seconds of play. The captures show up on the game bar no problem, but the Xbox apps I have on my phone and laptop say “it looks empty here…” when I try to view those captures on the go. Does anyone know how to push the captures to the Xbox app? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Doonut,

    Thanks for confirming that your issue is about the PC version of Looking for Group (LFG). In that case, Xbox Console Companion has been a great help for streaming, LFG and installation of games in the previous versions of the Windows. Now, that Windows 10 and Windows 11 is updated, the Xbox Console Companion will be moved over to Xbox app. Where Xbox app will help you manage your game library and subscription, while the built in app - Xbox Game Bar will help you with the recording, capturing, linking of account, and managing headset/microphone and LFG.

    think they stopped it a while ago, you could just upload them to onedrive and play from there on the go or even upload to youtube but as private video's

    That sould be working then. Do you perhaps have access to the windows 10 xbox companion app?? There you can see if it captures your clips even if it doesn't say any thing on the xbox you wil see it under my captures on the companion app

    i believe in order to upload a screenshot to xbox you need to capture it with the xbox game bar then upload it through the xbox companion app and then it should show on your xbox profile
    oh sorry, let me be clear. I have windows 10 which it has xbox app and the game bar. I can capture the games just fine with the game bar or my video card. It's uploading to my xbox profile that I am having a problem with and I think it's cause I bought Gears
    5 thru steam not microsoft. I just wanted to make sure I was right or wrong about that.
