Moving xbox classic save files from one 360 to another.

I'm trying to move my xbox classic save game data that's on one 360 to my new xbox 360. I've been able to move all other save game data but the one from my classic xbox game. I've tried the transfer cable and the cloud. Is it even possible to do this?

Theoretically speaking, this is how it would work...

(1) On the Xbox 360, you "move" the Diablo 3 Classic save file data to the Cloud or Flash Drive.

(2) You "move" the Diablo 3 Classic save file data from the cloud or Flash Drive to the Xbox One HDD.

(3) The game detects the Diablo 3 save file data from the Xbox One HDD and then converts it to Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition save file data.

(4) You can now play Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition on the Xbox One

Note: Theoritically speaking, since the save file date that is going to be converted is directly linked to the Gamertag that is currently active, inactive Gamertags will not be affected & should still be usable with Diabl0 3 Classic. Save file data that
has been converted into Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition will not be compatible at all with Diablo 3 Classic.

XBox 360 to XBox One S

Moving from 360 to Xbox One S soon. Do I need to save downloaded 360 content/games to Cloud in order to play them on Xbox One S, or is there another transfer process?

 

I believe that some Xbox original games did not allow for moving or copying their save files. I could be wrong but it might not be possible.

 

The game is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

 

Pretty sure the transfer cable allows you to move it from one HDD to the other. I could be wrong though.

 

Their is no way to move Xbox Original saves to other drives. Thought yes, if you have a transfer cable. You could manually move them with USBXTAF but that's when it gets more advanced and you risk corruption to your HDD if you mess with the wrong partition
in the file system.

 

I have the same issue with Shenmue 2 and I thought of a possible workaround that I learned from changing Saturn save batteries but I worry it would damage my system. Would it be possible to load up my savegame on the old hard drive and hot swap the hard
drives to re-save it onto a new file I have on the new hard drive? I was unable to find any information on adding or removing hard drives when they are not actively being used.

 

You might be able to but I think that each device might have their own Device ID so if you switch it wouldn't allow you to save. And disconnecting the primary HDD from the Xbox will cause it to reboot.

The only real way is to use a transfer cable.

 

Would it damage my system or either hard drives to remove them while the system is on?

 

If its writing data to it, yes. Sudden reboots or drive removal can corrupt profiles.
