Moving Save Data on Xbox One

Hi. I want to uninstall a few games but don't want to lose my saves for them. I can't figure out how to move the save data onto a separate drive (USB stick) for safe-keeping and organisation and uninstall the games from my internal and external hard-drives.
I can't access the save data itself and when I unistalled one game but kept the save data, the game no longer shows in the games list and I can't find the save data to move it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you still have a copy on the old hard drive?

Sometimes moving Save data with out being logged in under the GT causes data to become unusable.

So is the HDD an official Xbox one or a 3rd party?

If it's not the official HDD then that might be why it's having issues as it looks like it can't see the HDD anymore, can you still see your save data on there? If so maybe try moving to a USB and seeing what happens:

You should not normally need to worry about copying the game saves as I think they don't get deleted from the console when you uninstall the game and as long as your console is connected to Xbox live they will also be held there.

 

Unfortunately, You're unable to save games to a USB/Flash Drive as this is a common way for people to cheat/mod games, etc.

On a positive note, Your saves will only be deleted if/when you delete them manually, Not when uninstalling.

Your saves are Automatically uploaded to your own personal "Cloud Storage", This allows you to load them on another console (Siblings, or Friends, Etc.)
