    Hi

    I'm looking to move my gamertag to my proper email account but it keeps giving me an error. I followed the steps to create a temporary live account and then move the gamertag I didn't want to that live account. But when I try and move the gamertag I want
    to keep to my proper live account then it says that my proper live account already has a gamertag associated even though I moved the old one off.

    Can you sign in Xbox live with a different E-mail account?

    yeah just create a new email address, go to xbox.com and change the email associated with your gamertag. heres the lnk for you.

    Moving gamertag to a different microsoft account

    Make sure that email#2 is not logged in on any devices as a Microsoft Account except on your Xbox console as it may automatically generate a gamertag. After moving the gamertag under email#2, you can contact Xbox Support to check if there is no more gamertag
    under email#2 so you can proceed moving gamertag under email#1 to email#2.

    Hi there,

    Since you already mentioned that you have moved the xbox live account on there to a different MS account, my advise is to contact Xbox Support, since it seems something may have done wrong.

    That would be an issue with the email address. The Gamertag is associated with a Microsoft Account, so you can verify the proper email address by logging into
    Xbox.com or your
    Microsoft Account page     and checking the gamertag associated for if it's the right one. If it was a the proper email address, it would not prompt for setting up a new gamertag.

    why can't I delete a profile from my xbox live account?

    You have to make a 'dummy' account with a different email to move that profile over to. Then the proper email will be free.

    Hi Lion,

    In order to change out the primary email for a gamertag to another one, the gamertag has to be removed. If there is a gamertag attached to the email, then it will only allow the new email to be connected to the gamertag as a secondary email instead of a
    primary email.

    Basically, it is going to be like musical chairs. Move each of the gamertags to another email to free the email. Create an account that will not be used on a daily basis. Move the gamertag from the email that is going to be used. Then it will free up the
    email to use with the main gamertag.
