    There are thousands and thousands of parents who have inadvertently opened xbox accounts for their children using their own microsoft accounts, when is microsoft going to have the decency to allow parents to move these xbox accounts to a childs account.
    Many of us are only just learning about all these online gaming accounts and procedures. It would not be difficult for you to do this so why do you persist in making things so difficult while trying to make out you want to help keep children safe on the net.

    I have done this suggestion (for the second time actually) my old adult account is now added to my new family account as a child account and i have set the time limits. i have done all this via my pc but the xbox is not stopping! do i need to do something
    via the xbox?

    Hi Defended,

    If the account is an adult account, it is unable to be set as a child account. This is why it is not working correctly. You would need to create a totally new account set as child. Reason for this is once a birthdate is put on Xbox.com, it cant be changed
    at all. You can change the one on Microsoft but it doesn't change the Xbox date.

    Your right everything remains with the gamertag its the microsoft account that needs to be changed i know its not difficult its your hierarchy that's the problem, but thank you. Away around it? since my son is playing on my microsoft account can i limit
    the time played on my own account.
