Moving GamerTag on XBoxOne

My GamerTag on XBoxOne was associated with an email that is no longer active. We created a new Microsoft account with new email and transferred our XBoxLive payment info to this new email, but cannot figure out how to transfer the original GamerTag and
all associated game progress info to the new account with the new email. The main problem is that I cannot access XBox Live anymore from the original GamerTag. I can still login to the original GamerTag, but cannot figure out how to move this to the new
account or change email account on this GamerTag. Please help - this has been going on for months and we cannot find a solution.

Live Account over 360 and Xbox One

At the moment if you go to a mates house you can recover your gamertag on their 360, then when you get home you need to recover your gamertag back to your console (unless you use a USB Stick).

I am wondering how it will work with the xboxone? As I dont want to keep recovering my Gamertag everytime I move from my 360 to the xbox one and back again. Will it let you have your account on both machines at the sametime?

I would suggest moving on to the official Xbox Reddit as it is very active among Xbox gamers (over 2K online right now) and even Xbox representatives like Major Nelson and developers go there and answer questions etc...

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. You would need to continue using the original account in order to continue with the progress on that account.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer game progress, game licenses or Microsoft currency between two different accounts. The gamertag will need to be removed from the old account before it can attempt
to be used on a different account. There is an article entitled

You're more than likely going to need to create another new email address that's not yet associated with any Xbox Live profile. Take a look over the information on the following link. It explains how you go about changing the email address for the gamer

We can no longer access the old account email and therefore cannot reset the password as necessary, but just entered a request for Microsoft to change the email address on that old account so we can regain access. It seems that will be necessary to be able
to effectively use this GamerID in the future. Once this is accomplished, will follow up if we still cannot figure out how to resolve this issue.
