Moving gamertag from one microsoft account to another

Hi everybody. I really have searched for the answer to this, and I can't believe I'm alone here, so I'm obviously missing something that's right in front of me.

I have my gamertag with purchased games, game rank etc. associated with an email address that is a microsoft account but not used for anything else; I don't use it to create accounts on my PCs etc.

Then I have my real Microsoft account. An outlook email that has my family info, my Windows ID etc. but a silly gamertag that seems to have been created automatically but was never used. I mean zero score, no games etc,

My dilemma is this: I want the gamertag from the silly gmail address (also a Microsoft account) to be associated with my professional Microsoft account (with an outlook email address). I don't care for anything associated with this gamertag and would prefer
to delete it in order to associate my actual gamertag with it)

I tried this years ago with another Microsoft account and a very personal email address, but got some bad advice that ended up with that account dissappearing into the ether, non-recoverable. Hence why I am careful now.

Please tell me someone can help?

So then there is no way to attach a Microsoft account to a gamertag that currently without one?

Also, is it possible to just move save data from one gamertag to another?

Thank you for taking the time the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are attempting to move your gamertag from one account to another account.

As per the
Microsoft account on Xbox console FAQ "Currently, you can't move your services from one Microsoft account to another. This option may be available in the future." This implies that you are unable to move Microsoft domain emails [Hotmail, Outlook,
MSN, etc.] nor gamertags across accounts.

When removing an email alias that’s a Microsoft domain, that email is completely deleted from our systems and can no longer be used to send or receive emails. It won’t be available for use again as an alias on another account. Microsoft does not recycle
email addresses, so it may not be reclaimed at a future time.

Additionally, gamertags aren't recycled. If you
change your gamertag there is a chance that you wont be able to use it on your new account as it takes some time for those to be released to the public once more.

I hope this was able to clear up any confusion this might have caused.

I have the same issue on an Xbox one. I want to move a gamertag from one Microsoft account to another to preserve the achievement history.

Unfortunately, there is not an option on the Xbox One to move a Gamertag from one Microsoft account to another. However, you would need to contact official support and see if they can do anything to help you out with moving your Gamertag to that other MSA

Unfortunately there is not an option on the Xbox One to move a gamertag from one Microsoft account to another, however this is an option to do so on a Xbox 360. If you have one available you can check out this link and learn how to move it.
