Moving game progress from an adult account to a child account??

Before my son played online, he used to play signed in as me on the Xbox 1s. He now plays online. So he doesnt lose his game progress, he still plays signed in as me but I have changed my settings to those suitable for his age. However, I really want him
to have a child account so that I can set time limits for him and not have to enter my password everytime he wants to go on the xbox. I therefore wondered if anyone knows of a way of transferring this game progress to a child account or turning my adult account
into a child account? Many thanks.

My account which his gamertag is set up on is an adult account. Surely there must be a way of moving Gamertags between accounts?!? I've set up a child account for him but just need to move his gamertag.

Creating a new gamertag or losing the progress on his current one is really not an option.....

It sounds like that account is set up as an adult account. Adult accounts cannot changed to a child account. Your only option is to create a new child account for your son. he will lose progress, as he will have to start his games again on his new account.

 

Sorry, but nothing can be transferred between accounts.

Paul from Xbox Forums Team here to assist with the issue, it sounds like you want to transfer data over from one account to the other. Unfortunately there is no way to transfer data over from one account to another.

Hi there,

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer items (game saves, achievements, purchases) between accounts. Your son would have to either still play the game under your account, or start over with the new child account.

As for turning your adult account into a child account, you would have to change the settings but if you son has the login for the account, he would be able to change them back.
