Moving game files off of external hard drive - One S

I have a 1tb external that I used on my xbox for games. I bought a new Xbox One S and connected the external to it. It reads it just fine. Let's me access the games. The problem is that it will not let me move the games from the external to the internal.
It keepstelling me I need a library app to view the files. This app doesn't exist. I'm getting a bit annoyed as I don't want to have to take forever to reload and patch all of my games. Help! Thanks!

Saint's Row Gat Outta Hell 360 DL - Game Freezes Over

Yeah, none of the things suggested worked.

What I ended up doing was moving my Saint's Row 4 game folder from the 360's internal hard drive to my external hard drive. That worked.

Moving files to a new External Hard Drive, and I keep getting "Installation Stopped!" very frustrating

Hey there A Witty Retort!

Are you moving the game off of your Xbox onto the external hard drive, or are you installing directly onto the hard drive? If you are moving, I would suggest Uninstalling
and Reinstalling the game. When downloading the game back, have it download directly to your external hard drive rather than the Xbox One.

Sorry you're having issues moving your games. Are you trying to move them one at a time? If not try going to the game tile, pressing menu, then manage, and moving it from your External to your Internal drive. If you're doing it that way can you post the
exact error message you're getting when you try to move the files?

I can't get to the point of seeing the tiles. Every time I select the drive to view it, it pops up with a message saying that I need an app to view the external hard drive. Then it goes to the AppStore and says none found.

Try going to your Games and Apps from your home screen (top right of the main page). Select the games section where you can see all your game tiles. From there, you should have sorting options at the top (sort by letter, small / large tiles, and where it's
installed). You can select your external drive to see all the games on it. Then put your cursor on any game (say Halo), and press Menu. You should have an option to Manage Game. Select manage game and then you should be able to Move it from your External to
your Internal drive.

To transfer games from the internal hard drive to an external hard drive on an Xbox Series S or X, navigate to "My games & apps", select the game you want to transfer, choose "Move or Copy", then select the external drive as the destination and confirm.
