    Moving from Xbox 360 to One


    Having a problem with Xbox live. My wife and I are playing Diablo III on the 360. My account is a Live one, hers is just local to the 360. I got a 12 month sub to live for her. recently picked up Diablo III for the One. I managed to get my character
    and save over using the export save function in Diablo itself. I figured that I could do the same for her, if I logged into her live account, but it tells me that the account is associated with another profile. I can down load her profile to the 360 or the
    one, but that shows up as another profile and won't let me access/copy/move the diablo game over.

    Any ideas on how to do this?

    I've been thinking about moving to a xbox one but was wondering if that when i move my account across from the 360 to the xbox one do i have to buy another 12 month gold subscription or does my current one from the 360 carry over?

    I didn't create a new account for her, I used her already existing live.com account and applied the live activation code to it.

    Nope. already tried that. after step 7, it tells me that that the account is associated with another profiles. Do I have to reset my gamer tag or something? I don't care about losing anything online, just the saved diablo characters on the local xbox.

    That's what makes me think you created a second account because that would mean she already has an account tied to that email. You would need to download the account to console in order to use it. Add or Remove Xbox Profile on an Xbox 360 Console

    I know there are two accounts here. I know how to upgrade the local one to live, I know how to download an existing profile, but I don't want to do that. I want to link the existing local one to an existing live account so I don't lose games in the local
    one.

    There is no way to merge accounts and nothing can be transferred between accounts.

    It sounds as though you created a second account for your wife instead of joining Live with her original account. You would need to follow these steps to turn her offline account into an online - https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/manage-gamertag-and-profile/offline-profile-to-gamertag
