Moving from New Zealand to South Africa with Xbox 360 and Xbox One

Hi all,

I was looking to get some confirmation of or support for a plan here! I am moving from New Zealand to South Africa.

In New Zealand I own an Xbox 360 E, many Xbox 360 games, a handful of Xbox One games, a few DVDs and many many Blu-ray movies (all physical copies). I recently left my Xbox One with my brother in New Zealand and am planning to ship my Xbox 360 and media
library over to South Africa.

I'd like to continue gaming in South Africa by purchasing an Xbox One S here and by shipping over my Xbox 360 E and media collection. As far as I have researched, South Africa and New Zealand are the same Blu-ray region (B) and game discs for the Xbox One
console are not coded to regions.

So in terms of physical media use, I assume all of my physical Xbox 360 PAL games and DLC, as well as region 4 DVDs will all be covered with my New Zealand Xbox 360 E that I ship over. My region free Xbox One games, my region B blu-ray movies and any region
free 4K blu-ray/region 2 DVD movies forward will work on a South African Xbox One S.

And in terms of digital media use, I assume all of my content will work on my New Zealand Xbox 360 E. What I assume may
not work is my New Zealand-bought digital content on a South African Xbox One S. But I also know there is the possibility of transferring my account's locale, and that any digital content will transfer as long as it is also available in South Africa.

I guess the immediate question is: Will transferring my Microsoft account void the use of digital content on my New Zealand Xbox 360 E?

Please if anybody could alert me to any holes in this plan that would be greatly appreciated!

Xbox one backward compatibility

I currently live in South Africa and own an Xbox 360, I am moving to South Korea in May and would like to buy and Xbox One while there. My question is, would the Xbox One bought in South Korea be backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 games bought in South
Africa?

 

Can't play games from another region

I bought my Xbox 360 console in the USA and I live in South Africa. I bought a game in South Africa and it won't play on my console. Is there any way to get the game/s from South Africa to play as I won't always be able to buy games in the US as I live in
South Africa?

 

What you need to know before you change your country/region
Moving your country/region for your Microsoft account may affect your services and subscriptions. The following is what you need to know about changing your country/region:

• Your Xbox profile information
  Your gamertag, unlocked achievements, and the rest of your Xbox profile information moves with you.
  
• The money in your Microsoft account
  The funds in your Microsoft account will not move with you. Be sure to spend the money in your Microsoft account before you change your account location. We can’t transfer money between regions.
  
• Your Xbox Live Gold subscription###p
  If Xbox Live Gold subscriptions aren’t available in your new country/region, your current subscription will remain active but might not work anymore. If you find this to be the case, cancel the subscription to stop recurring billing. To cancel

• Other subscriptions may not be available in your new country/region
  If you have other subscriptions (such as XNA Creator’s Club, Call of Duty Elite, or Monster Hunter), your subscriptions will remain active in the new country/region but may no longer work. If you have recurring billing, you’ll still be charged until
  you cancel the subscription. To do so, go to How to cancel your Xbox subscription.
  
• Groove Music Pass subscriptions can’t be moved
  If you have a current Groove Music Pass, it will be canceled as part of the move. Your collection will stay the same, subject to availability and region-specific licensing rules, if you subscribe to Groove Music Pass again after you’ve changed to a new region.
  If you use an Xbox Music Pass on a Windows Phone, you’ll need to reset your phone to manufacturer settings when you subscribe in a new region.
