Moving countries and pre-ordering games

Hello all,

I've recently decided to pre-order a game direct from the XBL Store on my Xbox One (I want to preorder XCOM 2: Deluxe Edition, if you must know). However, I have it on good authority that sometime in-between the day I pre-order XCOM and its launch date,
I will be moving to America. My question is:

If I pre-order XCOM 2 from Canada, using a Canadian account and Canadian currency, will I still be able to play it in America once I switch my billing region from CA to US?

I don't care if I'll have to wait a couple extra days due to launch dates or some sort of verification, I just want to know if it will still work at all. If you have an answer, please specify how sure you are ("have done this before", "have done something
similar before", etc.). I've been *** over a couple times in my purchases from the XBL store, so I want to be absolutely positive that it'll work. Otherwise I'll just convert the cash into USD and buy it once I'm there. More expensive, but more reliable.

Hey MS! How can we Pre Order games we want to Download???

I've never understood the idea of digital pre ordering. I mean, the only reason I pre order anything is because you'll struggle to pick up a physical copy of an AAA title on release day, or even a few days after release. like mentioned above, i do know digital
pre ordering happens, but i just find it odd. That being said, as we are moving into the digital age, so I agree that downloading games should come with their own DLC perks as an extra incentive

 

No rewards for pre-ordering digital copies of games???

Why do you only get reward points for pre-ordering a physical copy of a game and not for pre-ordering a digital copy...? Doesn't seem right.
