    Moving Gamertag between accounts

Thank you very much for clearing this up for me. I did think that it wasn't the right answer to my question, but that's what the online MS rep recommended.

I've started the process by deleting my old microsoft account, which should free up the gamertag once this completes in 60 days. I'll keep an eye on things and hopefully pick up the old gamertag with just once single payment instead of the two.

    Cheerie,

    Moving Gamertag between accounts

The steps you're listing above will only switch the Live ID between the two accounts, but the accounts will basically remain the same. If you're wanting to use just the old gamertag on the new account, you would have to pay to change the name on the old
account, then use it on the new account. Once you change a gamertag, it does get freed up in the system to be reused. However, it may not happen instantly (I've heard it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 45 days) and it is possible someone else could grab
the tag before you have a chance to use it on the second account.

All you need to do is log in on your Xbox One with the same email address and password as the account on your 360. You'll log right into your account.

    move stuff between accounts

I know it's frustrating, but unfortunately the reason it's so annoying is because of hackers. The 30 day rule is so they can't change the one thing that encompasses your account, it's your login credentials for one.

    Hi there,

have you tried to see if you are able to get a refund when you are cancelling the xbox live gold subscription on the 'incorrect' account, so you are able to buy a new subscription for the 'correct' account?

For any refund questions you will need to contact Xbox Support, to contact them use

    move stuff between accounts

Kimberlu, I have all information for both accounts, email, password etc., it's really that I just don't like the gamertag. I've been using since forever but managed to get Gold on the other account, which was stupid but I wasn't going to buy
another year's worth of xbox live gold on as well. But now I have all my stuff on the other account (achievements, gamerscore etc.). And I'm not sure, but wouldn't be surprised, if the online passes would only be valid on the account I'm using
now so I'd have to buy all of them again as well when I buy xbox live gold on .

Is there any way for me to permanently delete and then rename the other account to , or will I never be able to rename it to anyway?

I don't believe what you're saying about hackers by the way, it's all about money, think everyone knows that and it disgusts me, but there's not really anything I can do about that.
