    Movies & TV App Xbox Language


    Hello! I really want to convert my collection of games, DvDs and Blu-Rays to a digital collection. The only problem with this is the language of the movies. In the Microsoft store it says "German Audio" even though i have all my settings on english. Will the movies and shows be in german? I usually watch everything in english so i really hope not. I don't like german.

    Hi mmairegger,

    I'm going to assume that you're purchasing and downloading movies using the Xbox Movies app. If I'm not correct, please let me know.

    Each publisher is different in the way that they publish their movies, as well as subtitles and language translations. Unfortunately, not all videos available on the Xbox Movies and TV marketplace are optimized for all languages due to content restrictions.

    I hope this helps clarify the issue.

    Thank you for taking the time to post on the forums today. I'd be happy to help.

    I don't recall the TV app being taken away from the Xbox 360. Can you not find it from the TV and Movies section on the dashboard where it says get Your TV App?

    Yes you can watch tv shows and movies on tv and movie apps on your xbox as long as it's current or NEXT GEN not legacy consoles

    Years ago you could log in online to watch movies you purchased. Now with movies anywhere that’s seems to be a solution but it’s also a problem. Why can’t I watch my purchases?

    Digital movies purchased form the Microsoft store are only streamed to your console, there is no download option so you require a connection to view them.

    On a Windows 10 PC you can use the Movies and TV app to download them for offline viewing.
