    Movies & TV app update breaks Play To...


    A recent update to Movies & TV app has apparently broken the "Play To..." functionality. (This is playing a video to the XBox from Windows 10)

    I have a setup with multiple XBox Ones and the problem is reproduced on multiple (> 30) consoles at multiple locations. After restarting console, Play To works fine. It works fine all day long until somebody uses the console for something else, say playing
    a game. After a game has been played, tying to use Play To... again results in black screen. The video will never play.

    Quitting the Movies & TV app on the XBox resolves the problem temporarily, until somebody uses the console again. It will start and play the video on the next Play To...

    This worked fine until earlier this month, July 2017. The July update broke it.

    Xbox One Need tech support

    I can play movies I have bought pre preview update. Went to the Store, and downloading the movies & TV . I guess this is a different app than the app movies and TV?

    [BUG] if Movies & TV app has an update, casting fails until reboot

    If the Movies & TV app has an update and you tried to do "Cast to device -> Xbox One" from Windows not only will the cast fail but the Movies & TV app cannot be opened until the system is shut
    down.

    Attempting to open the Movies & TV app on the xbox will simple create the icon click noise and the app fails to open.

    After restarting the xbox, launching the Movies & TV app, applying the update, then casting will continue to work as normal.

    This has occurred that last 3 times there has been an update to the Movies & TV app

    Movies won’t play on Xbox Series X

    As far as checking the cables goes, my Xbox works as it’s supposed to with every game and app except for the Movies and TV App. Not sure what checking the cables would do?

    The required HDMI: not sure what you mean. Again, everything is working fine. The hdmi cable is hooked up directly to the TV with nothing in between and I am able to stream other apps like Netflix, Disney plus, HBO Max etc. with no issues.

    My system was setup for automatic updates but I wasn’t sure after the CS rep on the phone had me rest my console. There was an update available and I did it and still nothing. I also deleted the Movies and TV app and reinstalled. Nothing.

    Also, to add insult to injury, I tried playing another movie through the Movies and TV app that I own and is linked through Movies Anywhere. Nothing will play in that app.

    I downloaded the actual Movies Anywhere app and all my movies play no problem. It’s not the Xbox, or my TV, or the cables. It the Movies & TV app. It needs to be fixed.

    Unfortunately the movie I purchased is from Lionsgate and is not available on Movies Anywhere. So again, Microsoft SHOULD issue me a refund for the movie as there is literally no other way to play it.

    Having the same problem with error code 0xc33607d9

    this is one of the Core problems with xbox and why more and more people are leaving and going to PC. Xbox you had to habe known this movie would be releasing and still was not prepared

    for the onslaught of people wanting to stream it, i cant even download a movie I purchased?? Come on guys did no one in your office have the idea to make sure everything was up and running smoothly for the digital release of the highest grossing movie of
    all time??? Please fix this issue
