    Movies & TV App stuck in a loop


    When I attempt to open up the Movies & TV app on my XBox One, it initiates a perpetual loop that completely takes over the machine. After selecting the app, it first transitions to the blue screen with the Movies & TV icon and then after a few seconds, a grey dialog box screen appears saying that the M&T app needs to update. This begins a loop going back and forth between the blue M&T screen, the aforementioned dialog box, and the Home Screen. I am unable to break the loop, even when pressing the XBox button on the controller.

    Attempted resolutions so far have been to manually power the console off, unplug and let sit for a few minutes. However, after reconnecting, the symptoms described above return.

    Any advice?

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    Uninstall the app, clean your console's MAC and restart your internet devices and when everything is up and running install the app again and see if that solves the problem.

    To clean your console's MAC follow this path

    Settings>General>Network settings>Advanced settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, the console will ask to restart.

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums! We are sorry to hear about your app issue. Have you already attempted to uninstall and reinstall the Movies & Tv app yet? I would recommend this process if it is the only app that is giving you these issues. Once you uninstall the app you can reinstall by locating it under Full Library/All Owned Apps.

    I have the exact same problem with the Netflix app on my Xbox One. Most movies that I try to play under my Adult primary account get stuck in this permissions loop. Movies that I play under my kids profile has no problem.
