Movies & TV App/Media Renderer buggy in last few releases.

Xbox One implements the UPnP AVTransport service via the Movies & TV app. This is the feature that allows "Play To.." (aka Cast To Device) from Windows Media Player on Windows to the Xbox One.

(Originally, this was implemented by the Media Player app, but it is now the Movies & TV app).

Until the last spring update, this implementation worked quite well. With that update (I think it was April 2017), it introduced several bugs:

- The transport state will get stuck on TRANSITIONING when sending the PLAY command. This seems to happen most often after a game has been played, likely demanding more memory. It may be a caching issue, as it can be worked around by setting the AVTransportURI
to empty, and then setting it back to the URI immediately afterwards. Without that hack, it will just display a black screen.

- After playing games for between 30 minutes and several hours, the service will throw an error (COM error received: HRESULT: 0x80040374) for any non-empty URL provided. This is the same error one would expect when it cannot find the resource, however it
is still networked (as it is responding to commands over the network) and all local network and public network URLs fail, even a simple JPEG from a public website. It seems to lose the ability to connect to the network to retrieve images and videos.

- When inserting a disc at the same time as sending a PLAY command, the screen will just go black about 30% of the time, and not show either the game or the video.

As we operate a large number of Xbox Ones, being used to display videos, this has been reproduced on over 100 consoles in a dozen different network environments. None of these bugs existed a year ago. Anyone able to tell me if these are known issues?

Media Player App - "You don't have access to this location"

I have a Plex Media Server on my PC which hosts Movies and TV shows, I access the over my network with the Xbox One Media Player app (not the Plex app).

Movies are on drive d: and TV Shows are on drive e:

This has worked flawlessly for the last year when yesterday it movies stopped working. TV shows still work fine.

I can still run the movies just fine from the PC but when I to Xbox One Media Player app > Plex Media Server > Video > Movies > All movies; I get the error message:

"No access to this location. Before you can play items in this location, you must first have permission to access it"



TV shows work as normal, only movies are effected.

Movies work just fine when playing them on the PC itself.

Currently running NXOE, but it was working fine a few days ago.

Any ideas?
