Movies & TV App is Broken on 360 ... only provides 25 episodes in a series.

Hi,

While there was an attempt to help, there was no solution that worked when I first posted the issue a couple of weeks ago. The thread has been locked today after another person experience the same question inquired about whether or not I had solved my problem.
The Moderator indicated to start a new thread so, here it is.

To restate the issue:

The Movies & TV app works great on my XBox One and Windows 10 PCs.

However, I have many shows where I bought the complete series (all combined into a single season) and the Movies & TV app only shows 25 of them.

Every single season which is more than 25 episodes has the same problem.

I have tried troubleshooting suggestions to 'reload' / 'refresh' my purchases on the machine including removing the profile completely. Nothing works -- it is always the same problem. Following feedback the last time, I also rolled back updates and
followed the step by step instructions provided in my earlier thread. No luck there either.

This problem is ONLY on the XBox 360 and there is a pattern here...

Stargate: SG1 Complete Series ... 213 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

Chuck Complete Series ... 90 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

American Horror Story Season 1 through 7 compilation... 84 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

Futurama Complete Series ... 128 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

Archer Seasons 1-9 compilation ... 101 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

X-Files Seasons 1-11 compilation ... 217 episodes but only 25 showing up on my XBox 360

In every single instance with a series / compilation where you get to buy a series, Movies & TV on my 360 only gives 25 episodes of the run. Not even a continuous 25 episodes either. It just seems to 'cap' at 25.

I have no problems on any Windows 10 computer I log into and no issues on my XBox One. Fortunately most of what we watch is on the XBox One. This is why I thought it was more of a glitch with the 360 incarnation of the Movies & TV app which is different
from the XBox One and Windows.

SINCE another user reported this issue on their 360 with the EXACT same circumstances, I doubt it is a coincidence.

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Can you provide us with screenshots of this issue while we investigate further? We are going to attempt to re-create the issue, and look for solutions.

Please avoid having personal information in the screen shots, such as emails and gamertags.

I have had a similar problem and it turned out there was a license issue with some of the music used in an episode and the episode was pulled from digital purchase and re added once they changed the music.

If this was a handful of episodes, I could see that being the case. However, there is a pattern here...

I've tried wiping my profile... rolling back and reinstalling updates (as previously suggested) but the problem persists.

Oh... and I bought the complete run of the Sopranos and despite all my efforts, it's not even showing up on my 360 (but it does everywhere) despite everything I've tried. I suspect that if it did show up, I'd only get 25 episodes of that too.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. On what device are you watching this series? Does this happen to any other episodes ahead of episode 20?

If this is on Xbox one, you may want to consider deleting the movies and tv app and then reinstall it afterwards.

Hi. It only happens on episode 20 in fact. On episode 21 it's in norwegian again.

The ability to download Movies and TV Episodes is not currently available on Xbox One. It is there for the Windows 8 Video app and Xbox 360.

Foxtel for Xbox 360, does the same thing as NetFlix + is has CableTV shows [Sports, Movies, TV Series episodes etc..] There would be no need for Netflix really & Zune also has Movies to rent in ANZ...
